…so, as it turns out, the AI agents of doom STILL are stochastic parrots, just that instead of stochasting themselves into “the sky is… (99.9% chance=blue)” they stochastise themselves into sending a software command to an external tool to get what should be a right answer. They don’t think nor do anything resembling thinking. And when they fail, it’s a glorified software bug with a limited self-replication ability. Just companies are allowing those bugs to interact with real software doing real things which is reckless but oh boy what headlines, publicity and investment they produce! ---
