Wizards seem particularly prone to the idea that they can bend the nature of existence to their will. The young warlock in the following story snippet out of the Harry Potter wiki states that he sees love as a humiliation, a weakness, a drain on a person’s emotional and material resources. He employed _dark arts_ to not only remove his own heart but the warlock took the maiden down to the dungeon of the castle and showed her tithe enchanted crystal casket, within which lay his own, still beating heart. The maiden asked him to put the heart back inside his chest. Seeing it as an act necessary to please her and win her over, he did as she requested. The maiden was so pleased that she ran forward and embraced him, however the heart had become horrible and wicked. The touch of her arm the sound of her breath the hair pierced it making the Warlock murder the witch. ![IMG_3193](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/4X/6/1/3/613975fa0bb2e181a47240f485d26edf445cc938.jpeg) The Warlock and the Maiden Witches corpse. ---
