I played it, leveled up my Anaconda, didn’t like the Holo Me and that was all. It’s a pretty game but the Holo Me is funny and there really isn’t much to do but fly around and shoot stuff in order to keep flying around and shooting stuff. Also I am not the least thrilled with Thargoids. ---

My dream game is Elite flight/combat/piloting model + EVE style living universe. I hope someone makes something like that someday… Or if not, I guess I’ll have to make it, since I’m into gamedev 😋 ---

Heh, exploration is totally not my game. It’s soul-crushingly boring to me; the farthest trip I’ve made where like 1.200 ly and also have been to the Pleyades… rest of time flying and shooting stuff inside the Bubble. Gimme people even if it’s to shoot them… but the scenery is damn pretty. And the suns look real, unlike EVE’s “lighbulb in the room” stupid suns (I’ve never got over them, they totally break my sense of distance). ---

Elite really comes into its own when you’re doing it with friends. Personally, I could play it solo forever if I had to, but I don’t really get bored. I’m weird. I’m the kinda guy who gets on DCS to practice level flying for hours. Exploration for me is to see new things. The travel for that is worth it. What I do with my friends though, whether it’s PVP or blapping pirates in a hazres, or even just helping them with their engineering (I have all engineers unlocked and I’m currently getting cannons engineered on the Cobra Mk.IV I uploaded above). The game has wing missions now, and Squadrons (basically corps for Elite, and with squadron carriers too) are coming. The game is definitely going places and picking up some momentum. ---

Add a serving of GTAO walking & driving around and I’m sold! 🤣 Elite is nice because it’s about being human (better than being a capsuleer) in a human universe… but only when you’re in your ship. And that’s boring eventually. I would love to walk around stations, give a closer look at the residentai areas in the rings, just be there and watch TV or go dancing… play the space princess with a host of friends, followers and clients, doing favors, getting favors, improving everybody’s life and the universe. And make world peace, too, but not before kicking some ass with laser love. 🌍 ---

I was one of the modders trying to fix the pile of turd that was X-Afterbirth back in the day. Here’s a video of me fixing the standings that were meant to trigger a battle that was meant to take place. You, the player, are meant to board a ship under the cover of that battle. Instead, what happened was, there’d be no battle, so all the enemy capital ships would shoot at you and only you. So I fixed the standings trigger, and discovered how bad the AI was in the process. They ended up shooting their own ships trying to shoot enemy ships on the other side. This is from my old YouTube channel. ---
