The LOTR movie is better than Tolkien’s book, as an exception. In the book are too many stretched stories, which aren’t so good, like meeting with Sauron’s Mouth. Overall, the books are much better than most movies made under their stories. For example, any of “Murder on the Orient Express” movies are worse than the original Agatha’s detective story.
