No, you are talking about something completely different. I’m not talking about generator efficiency, I’m talking about electricity that is wasted because no one us buying it. Renewable power plants who have to shut down because there is no buyer at times.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> Maybe you think one can “curtail” by using BTC mining? Not unless they are ON SITE at the power generation.

Yeah, that’s what actually happens.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> So how can it be decentralized if they need to sync with the grid?

What are you even talking about. Is there only one power plant and one electrical grid in one zime zone in your picture of the world?

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> That’s why I wonder on how you keep saying it’s individuals and not a large (inter)national company that would set up and manage the BTC miners on all these sites.

It’s a lot of different companies that set up those farms on different sites all over the place. Where did I say it’s individuals or one large international company?

You can mine as an individual, you just need an ASIC, which is a bit of an investment. I know personally someone who heats their home with a miner, before there was an electrical heater that just burned the electricity (that’s just how the heat their homes there, they know there are heat pumps). Now he gets some money back for heating. That electricity would have been burned anyway.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> Do you think power plants should let random people in who are “too cool to ID themselves?”.

Holy ■■■■ man, your answers get more idiotic by the day. This mining companies are normal companies, they have a CEO and staff, they pay taxes and report their use of electricity and the Bitcoin they mine. They actively work together with power producers and grid operators like every industry does that uses a lot of electricity.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> Maybe in a TV show for children but not in reality. BTC’s value is still low… and with all the mining companies going bankrupt, at least Aaron will get paid more for his efforts.

The majority of mining companies are absolutely fine

Decentralized is a buzzword.

It is said above that BTC mining is Decentralized for ANYONE to participate, with their gaming PC and basic internet connection. Now we learn that is NOT TRUE and it is being closed off to a select few that can afford to rent a space near a power plant.
Actually that was what I predicted and people said “NO, anyone can just use a PC and a graphics card.”

EDIT: And yes, tehy can do it from their homes at a hughe cost and contributing to extreme pollution.

What are you even talking about. lol. You are good in avoiding to tell the reality of the BTC. It’s just a toy for bankers who don’t want to pay taxes. Again, my point of BTC being an an-cap militants private currency stands.

> [@Karak\_Terrel](#):
>
> your answers get more idiotic by the day. This mining companies are normal companies

So again you prove my point that BTC is only a toy for the rich.
Not as idiotic as those sustaining the message “Epstein did not kill himself” in the bitcoin chain. You know what you support.

> [@Karak\_Terrel](#):
>
> You can mine as an individual, you just need an ASIC

Apparently the initial posts about anyone with a gamer PC and a internet connection are wrong. You still claim the ASIC can be used efficiently to heat a room, but what are the number on that? And what prevents you from claiming the exact opposite in a few posts?
See why I think it looks like a scam? The answers are getting shaped to ‘whatever sounds best’.

Most of the messages said “Happy halving and prosperous mining” I’m not sure how a conspiracy theorist who happens to be a miner is suddenly seen as the spokesperson for all BTC miners in the world.

Well, you, together with the BTC miners are keeping all those messages alive. Sad as you do not support the message. And that’s with the systemic lack of accountability of BTC. You have to support all the bad of BTC, but you don’t do the same with your governments decisions, I think you have quite the flexibility in deciding what is good or bad for the “poor persons”.

All BTC is just BTC. If someone uses BTC for anything untoward or illegal they seem to get caught eventually and have to answer to a court of law, that’s what I see happening anyway, I’m not sure what you see.

We just only a few posts ago spoke about it… but I guess here is more systemic abuse of crypto;

I guess I’m going to leave you guys at it. No matter how it’s explained you keep on avoiding the actual issues. I think all was said about it, it’s something that’s been abused and it’s original creator(s) left it behind for good reasons.

Eventually? No, most do not get caught. It’s new and unregulated so people jumped on it and pumped it for what it was. It’s horrible how it’s suggested for poor people who can’t own a bank and will be without rights suppressed by the neo-bankers who will run their crypto-banks as they see fit with no governments telling them what to do.

You completely forgot about El Salador because they aren’t usefull anymore.

Not only did i get a lot of small jobs I also got tea and good convo which I found insightful, I’ll never forget the kind people who helped me and let me clean their garden and earn a living when my life wasn’t going well.

That’s such a dumb and extremely desperate argument, you should actually be ashamed for using it. All it does is show your true colors, that you are not willing to discuss in good faith and use such weak attempts to create some kind of guild by association with random strangers no one of us and neither Bitcoin has anything to do with. It’s a truly a new low in this whole discussion, something sadly too many times happens with Bitcoin critics.

Instead it is wasted on mining BTC or other cryptos. We need something to store the energy in or elastic non-renevable energy output grids technology to make most of what we can from it, to not switch them off because they produce too much for the grid to handle in Voltages.

These are serious energy issues, some BTC will not solve this.

It’s extremely expensive to store energy. Until we have a battery technology where you can actually store gigantic amounts for basically nothing that will always be inferior to just building more power plants and deal with the over production.

Just because you think Bitcoin mining is worthless doesn’t make it worthless for other people. This is probably the most important technology of the last decades and can bring financial inclusion and owenership rights to people all around the world that don’t live as comfortable in a first world country as you. So if we have to decide between you drying your hair and cooling your ass down with an AC, we should probably stop you from using that energy and mine Bitcoin instead, as it literally ads more value.

No you don’t. What you try to do is construct guilt by association with some randoms that at some point interacted with the Bitcoin blockchain. You full well what you are doing and honestly I can’t see how you are aren’t disgusted by yourself for doing it. Are you so desperate out of arguments?

> [@Aedaxus](#):

I have no problem addressing the energy issue when people agree to discuss with me like adults and don’t construct random ■■■■■■■■ or play up an act about things they almost deliberately try to misunderstand.

You did not utter a single valid criticism to my views which I wrote down multiple times now. Do the work and actually think about a real answer. It’s kinda condescending that you expect effort from me to write thoughtful comments but all you do is act outraged about random stuff you find on the internet you throw in here instead of actually addressing what is said.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> El Salvador? Or are they no longer of use to you?

A lot more people in El Salvador have access to the financial system because of their Bitcoin initiative than before, simply because the credit based fiat system is not capable of on-boarding the poor.

They now all have access to dollars and Bitcoin as they chose, can pay invoices with their mobile across the country when before they would have needed to travel a day to the city just for that.

They can now receive Dollars directly from their family abroad and get basically 100% of that money, when before they once again had to go to the city, where they got only a fraction of that money for fees and had to give up even more because the gangs where already waiting outside.

It’s doing a lot of good over there, but this are things that have nothing to do with the Bitcoin price, it’s completely invisible to the speculators and bystanders like you who only see Bitcoin as an asset to gamble your money and conveniently ignore the technology and benefit an electronic cash system that isn’t centrally controlled and isn’t credit based brings.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> Maybe the CAR? Or did you discard them also?

The people there will see the same benefits I hope. I must admit I have no idea what is going on there, it sounded more like a publicity stunt. But people all over the world can adopt the technology and this already happens all around the third world, they don’t need the government to agree to it.

> [@Aedaxus](#):
>
> Those buzzwords mean nothing to anyone who looks behind the smoke and mirrors.

You haven’t even started to look behind the smoke and mirrors, you are completely lost in a mainstream narrative that doesn’t actually communicate anything interesting about it. Hence only the obsession with the price and the energy use.

No, there were the criminal aspect too, but you always get so angry when it’s mentioned. Also, BTC is not mainstream but apparently every ‘famous criminal’ (McAfee, Epstein, Wolf of Wallstreet, …) were open and loud promotors of crypto. So at least it looks bad, I would say the media is doing a great job to demonize BTC… yet BTC still uses to much energy… coincidence? No idea…

Did you conveniently forget to read the part where El Salvadorians don’t have to travel all day just to pay one bill? They can now do it using BTC and their phone app, this has saved the people there so much time and they can now focus on other things like working and doing some extra jobs to make ends meet. very positive in my opinion and I am happy they have found a good use for it.

That one guy? Yes, he was in the youtube video. I think it was the same guy who wanted to buy vegetables for 2 dollars (woth of BTC) but the shopowner said to buy for 1 dollar (worth of BTC). His situation, in the best financial time for BTC wasn’t that good so now, his financial situation halved?

Edit: I do like your positivity. But times are very dark for those people and there aren’t many jobs he can do there, I’m afraid.

So you think an app the entire country has access to would only benefit one man? This is ignorance at a very high level. The bill paying feature is available to anyone who uses the app, anyone who uses it won’t have to make an all day journey just to pay a bill. Thank god for BTC it stops folks like you promoting some backwards way of doing things.
