If you’re just talking about a research paper for a college assignment where you have to follow the special rules yes. The OP didn’t seem to be just discussing a research paper assignment. I’ve never had to follow those rules outside of college when researching something. ---

My argument is based on the definition of the word research. My example of college is mostly in jest, but also valid. re·search /ˈrēˌsərCH,rəˈsərCH/ _noun_ noun: **research** ; plural noun: **researches** 1. the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. The three kittens on the right are the passively observing ones thus are the: - `miner / basic industrialist / simple trader`, - the `PvE-er` and - the `F1 monkey / basic PvP-er`. While the one on the right actively reacting and trying to get (and think) outside the box attempting to catch the prey is the: - _real_ PvP-er / market manipulator / industrialist aka the `true EVE player`. 🤔 🍿 😊 ---

Yeah. All Associate’s. That way I could take the last 2 together on my GI Bill. No student loans that way. The first was done in the Navy- also paid for by Uncle Sam. All in electronics and all paid for. A Bachelor’s would have been too expensive and unnecessary. Wouldn’t have gotten me anywhere in my field. ---

Calling the game _dead_ because you personally aren’t finding fights doesn’t really prove much. Activity in this game has always come in waves depending on time, region, and who’s actually online at any given time. Your point about space being spread out might be fair, but plenty of people are still finding fights and running missions every day. If you’re seeing nothing but empty space, it might be more about where you’re looking than the state of this game. ---

The average lifespan of an MMO is about 7 to 10 years. Let’s see… when was EVE Online released? Oh! 22 years ago! And it’s still running. And you want us to think that this game is in trouble? It’s already outlasted so many others. It’s older than World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV and it still has a hell of a strong community. It’s not going anywhere. ---

it appears you might be new to eve. Stagnation happens between every expansion, then take into account what time of year it is, what is going on in life that might have an effect on being able to log in specifically to appease you, the most important person to ever exist. If you are not finding people in space, you are not looking. It’s that simple. Whatever system you live in might be empty, this game is not. ---

For all of your bluster about the definition of the word research, you don’t seem capable of understanding that this is perhaps the dumbest thing to argue about. Does that make you feel good? To argue with a stranger on a web forum about what does and does not constitute research outside of college? You have a very low bar for yourself if that’s what makes you feel like you did something meaningful. Whatever does it for you I guess. You must really lead a boring and unfulfilling life. I guess this explains why you spend so much time in that thread arguing about what to name asteroids. It leads me to believe that after hanging out with you for a day, I’d have to go mine Veldspar just for some excitement! ---
