Given that their existance requires an ‘online’ state, the expectation is that all reasonable endeavours have been made to ensure it remains online, its the cornerstone of their business and alot of personnel will undoubtedly be tasked to ensure this. Sure, random beaviour by external factors is beyond their control, but designing a system to mitigate the effectiveness of such behaviour is in their control and remit. Might need to start training for Tunneling soon, building a VPN into the client with dynamically shifting keys and end-points whilst all being encrypted would surely be a defense, sure could be reverse engineered but they’d of had to pay to get a chance of the data and then it would only be valid for a period of time before being invalid. ---

that’s a content caching service, all it does is take some of the load off your server, it doesn’t “protect” your server at all. ---

I cannot log in from any of my accounts… I cannot log in on Eve portal app on phone and go through mail… Maybe instead of loosing time coding stupid red dots, would have been better reinforcing the code protecting the server. Just a thought 🔴 forever ---

I made a support ticket the last time when I could not login for two weeks with 4 accounts and they told be the don’t give omega time back because it wasn’t their fault they could not deliver the service. Basically 2 months of subscription down the drain. Could have gotten some nice games on Steam instead… ---

Will more omega time be gifted in compensation of the lost play time ? I understand the fact that the ddos doesn’t affect all omega aspects (skill training, industries, … still goes at the same speed) that why I think a fair solution would be to gift some partialy omega time (with alpha training speed but still able to use omega items, recipies, …), that not perfect because some people may have thinked to login to add more skill to the skill queue, or lunching some other jobs but was not able to but that an edge case that can mostly only be checked one by one by someone. ---

As for me when server lays down for 24 hours it means that company has some security issues. And it’s definatly not players problem. ---

I feel you, I was midway through a Lvl 4 mission, the battleship I was hitting spawns more rats when at 80%, 60% and so on. Before I knew it, I just kept flying with nothing happening, next minute, the battleships dead and I have 40-50 rats at 35km and 10% shield in my Tengu 😂 ---

they do not do that that would bankrupt em with the amount of times they get attacked by the mostly russian ddossers ppl who cant play the game without needing ddos attacks to win ---

It would be grat if every st\*\*\*d people in here, claiming ccp to better protect their servers, would read sth about ddos. And read about the really heavy ddos-attacks the last two years (not limited to ccp). Maybe some of you people realize that there is nothing you can do against heavy ddos. No cloudflare, no “better code”, no vpn… nothing… ---

I lost a Gila yesterday in exactly the same way lol. I’d just arrived through the mission acceleration gate when the server connection went down. When I managed to log back in an hour later I was “safe-warping” in my pod. 👻 ---
