# Triglavian T3C – Revisiting an Old Idea

I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while, and I know I’m not the first one.

The idea of a Triglavian Tech III Strategic Cruiser has come up several times over the years. Rather than letting those discussions disappear into the forum archives, I thought it might be worth bringing the subject back in 2026.

I’m not here to propose exact subsystem bonuses, DPS numbers or a complete ship design. I’d rather leave that to the developers if the idea ever gets serious consideration.

What interests me is whether a proper Triglavian T3C could have a place in New Eden, both from a lore perspective and as a distinct ship within the existing Strategic Cruiser class.

## Why I think it makes sense

We’ve already seen Triglavian hull technology combined with other advanced ship systems.

The Ikitursa and Zarmazd are good examples of Triglavian designs being adapted using technology associated with existing empire Tech II ships.

The Tiamat and Hydra are interesting examples too. Although developed by the Society of Conscious Thought rather than the Collective itself, they demonstrate that Triglavian hulls can accommodate covert operations and reconnaissance technology.

And then there’s the Babaroga.

For me, that’s probably the strongest precedent. We now have a Triglavian Marauder, showing that a specialized ship class doesn’t necessarily have to remain exclusive to the four empires.

So why couldn’t a Strategic Cruiser eventually receive similar treatment?

Of course, Tech III is a different challenge. Strategic Cruisers are built around modular, Sleeper-derived technology. A Triglavian version would need its own explanation for how the Collective developed or adapted such an architecture.

But considering what we know about Triglavian technology, their history of observing the Ancient Domains, and their ability to develop highly specialized ships, I don’t think the concept would feel out of place in EVE’s lore.

Quite the opposite, actually.

## A Triglavian T3C should feel Triglavian

I’m not suggesting a Tengu or Legion with a disintegrator bolted onto it.

I’d love to see a genuine Triglavian interpretation of the Strategic Cruiser concept, with the modular flexibility that defines the class, but built around the Collective’s own technological identity.

Entropic Disintegrators, armor warfare, energy neutralization, drones, and potentially other Triglavian systems could provide plenty of interesting directions.

The spool-up mechanic alone already creates a different combat dynamic. A ship that needs time to build damage pressure isn’t necessarily going to excel at the same things as one designed for quick engagements.

That doesn’t mean balance would be easy, or that such a ship should outperform the existing T3Cs. It just means there’s room to explore something different.

The Ikitursa didn’t make the other HACs obsolete. It found its own place among them. I’d hope a Triglavian Strategic Cruiser could do the same.

## Previous discussions

I also want to give credit to the players who brought up this idea long before this thread.

Some earlier discussions worth revisiting:

- **2019 – T3C Triglavian question in a CSM campaign:** [ExookiZ for CSM 14](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/exookiz-for-csm-14/157185/6)

- **2024 – Community petition mentioning a Triglavian Strategic Cruiser:** [Let’s sign a petition](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/lets-sign-a-petition-to-the-company/439635)

I’m linking these to acknowledge the earlier contributors and give people some background, not because I think every suggested mechanic or subsystem from those discussions should be implemented.

## So, is there still interest?

That’s really why I’m opening this thread.

I’d love to see Fenris Creations consider a proper Triglavian Tech III Strategic Cruiser at some point.

Not necessarily tomorrow, and not at the expense of balance or the existing ships. Just as a possible future addition that fits both the technology and the story of the Triglavian Collective.

I’m curious whether other players still want to see this happen, and what the developers might think of the idea.

Fly dangerous.

**Just for fun, here’s a fan-made concept blueprint I’ve been working on for a possible Triglavian T3C.**

It’s purely a visual interpretation of the idea, not a proposed final design or a set of subsystem specifications. I’d leave those decisions to the developers.

I agree a Triglavian T3C would be a nice idea.

The main question I have is what the third offensive subsystem bonus would do, and what the EWAR subsystem would boost as signature ‘Triglavian’ EWAR.

For the rest it could follow the pattern set by the existing subsystems for T3Cs, where the first two offensive Triglavian subsystems would be Entropic Disintegrator-themed and spooling logi + armor command bursts for the support version.

But the Triglavians don’t really have a secondary weapon system (_smartbombs? not really a main weapon system_) nor a signature EWAR option like the four main factions.

Maybe some kind of hybrid remote-reps + disintegrator to enable strong spider-tanking could be a nice fit for the third offensive subsystem?

That still leaves us with an EWAR option that isn’t just neuts like the Legion.

Maybe it’s better if FC first releases a new form of EWAR and Triglavian recon cruisers or EWAR ships so they too have their signature EWAR option!

i also think that the trigs need an expanded ship tree, maybe the ewar would be to decrease weapon ranges, or something else, no matter what it would be a fun idea, but if there is going to be a t3c, there also has to be a t3d in my opinion

and honestly, the ewar i can come up with makes me think that they should do something like target painting

Trig NPCs use a little bit of everything for EWAR, but the most commonly fitted on player ships is neuts (obviously, probably would be the case even if the hulls weren’t bonused for them) and the most devastating to use against them is tracking disruptors scripted for range. Trigs are also associated with rogue drones. Maybe the EWAR subsystem could boost tracking disruptors and neut drones (including the new hybrid neut drones)? That would be pretty unique.

Also worth bearing in mind that trig tech 2 ships (except for the Babaroga) were designed by the empires for use against the trigs. The trigs themselves presumably wouldn’t benefit much from reverse-engineering Sleeper tech onto their hulls, they could just take the limiters off if they need more oomph, so a tech 3 trig hull should probably come from a collaboration between the empires. That lets you mix and match empire characteristics between each subsystem. The Amarr are associated with both neuts and tracking disruption (also drones, to a lesser extent), so my EWAR concept would make sense as an offensive subsystem designed by them. The other two offensive subsystems should probably focus on mixing entropic disintegrators with a secondary weapon type, for instance a caldari subsystem that adds some launcher hardpoints but zero drone bandwidth, and a gallente subsystem for a full flight of medium drones with boosted damage. This way you also partially avoid the same situational trap the other trig cruisers (and larger) fall into, where unless you expect to be shooting the same target for at least a minute you’re probably better off bringing another hull instead. The T3C with my caldari/gallente offensive subsystem will do much better if it’s allowed to spool up, since its main damage output is still from the disintegrator, but its secondary weapon bonuses lets it apply a greater percentage of damage from the start.

Thanks Gerard, glad you like the idea!

The EWAR question is an interesting one, and I really like the thought of combining remote reps with disintegrators.

I’m deliberately leaving the exact subsystem design open, but ideas like these are exactly what I hoped this thread would bring out. Hopefully the Fenris devs might find some inspiration here too.

Thanks! A Triglavian T3D would be pretty interesting too. 🙂

I hadn’t really considered a new EWAR mechanic as part of a wider Triglavian ship tree expansion, but it’s definitely worth discussing.

I’d love to see where the devs could take these ideas.

Thanks Anna, some really interesting points here!

I especially like the idea of exploring different technological influences for the subsystems. The empire collaboration angle is an interesting alternative from a lore perspective too.

Personally I’d love to see something that feels genuinely Triglavian rather than just another empire T3C, but I think there are plenty of ways to approach that.

I’m happy to leave the actual design and balance decisions to the Fenris team. It’s great to see people coming up with different possibilities!

Anna’s point about the origins of Triglavian Tech II ships got me thinking about something else: who would actually develop a Triglavian T3C?

An empire-led project combining different technologies would certainly be one possible direction.

Personally, though, I’d love to see the Collective develop its own Strategic Cruiser.

Since the formation of Pochven, the Triglavians have gained control of an entire region of former empire space, along with whatever infrastructure and resources they can make use of there. They’ve also had years of direct conflict and contact with the empires and their capsuleers.

It doesn’t seem unreasonable to imagine Triglavian researchers studying existing Strategic Cruisers, Sleeper-derived technology, and perhaps even the work of organizations like the Sisters of EVE, then adapting what they’ve learned into something of their own.

The Collective already has its own advanced engineering, bioadaptive technology and a history of developing specialized vessels. A modular Tech III platform could be an interesting next step in that evolution.

Of course, I’m not suggesting any of this is already established lore. It’s just one possible direction for the story, using things that already exist in New Eden.

And I’d much rather see a genuine Triglavian interpretation of a Strategic Cruiser than simply an empire T3C with a disintegrator attached.

That’s just my personal preference, though. I’m curious what others think. Would you rather see a Collective-developed T3C, an empire adaptation of Triglavian technology, or something else entirely?

Found two more older discussions worth adding to the list:

- **2020 – AlienDrago Paikon:** [Triglavian T3 loose idea](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/triglavian-t3-loose-idea/227060)

- **2021 – The Dungeon Master:** [Triglavian marauder and strategic cruiser](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/triglavian-marauder-and-strategic-cruiser/341773)

It’s especially interesting that the 2021 thread proposed both a Triglavian Marauder and a Strategic Cruiser, years before the Babaroga actually arrived.

Thanks to the original posters for putting time into these ideas. I thought they deserved a mention here as well.

Hopefully we can keep the discussion going and give the Fenris dev team some inspiration for the future. 🙂

A Triglavian T3D would be great too!

Personally, though, I wouldn’t necessarily expect it to come first. Historically, the original Strategic Cruisers arrived with Apocrypha in 2009, while Tactical Destroyers didn’t appear until 2014–2015.

They’re also quite different implementations of Tech III technology. T3Cs use interchangeable subsystems, while T3Ds rely on switching between tactical modes.

So from a historical and lore perspective, I think a Triglavian T3C could just as naturally come before a T3D.

Of course, that’s just my personal view. I’d be happy to see either one eventually!

Smartbombs could actually be used if Fenris creates a clever design.

Triglavians have 3 clades: Veles, Perun and Svarog. We already have Perun Remote Reppers and Veles Disintegrators. Why not invent Svarog Smartbombs that spool-up in Range over time? Only a single one can be used on a Triglavian T3C only and a specialized sub bonuses its cap-use or spool-up rate.
To prevent mass-usage in a fleet, those Svarog Smartbombs use a omni-damage profile, so no side can specifically tank their ships against the own smartbomb damage and obliterate the others.

Balance wise, when fully spooled up and using the specific subsystem, a Triglavian T3C might get the power (damage and range) of two regular LARGE smartbombs.

The benefits are being able field that on a medium hull (lower mass, higher mobility) and for a much lower capacitor use.
The downsides are that it needs time to spoolup to full potential, has lower defenses than a Battleship hull and it’s power is limited, so you can’t replace a full 8 Large SB Smartbomb-Battleship with it.

Just some food for thought…

Thanks for sharing your ideas, everyone!

Personally, I’d love to see a Triglavian T3C built primarily around the technologies and characteristics we already associate with Triglavian ships — entropic disintegrators, armor tanking, energy neutralizers and remote armor repair.

For example, a covert-capable armor support configuration could be a really interesting possibility.

I’m not against exploring other mechanics, but I’d prefer them to complement the established Triglavian identity rather than replace its core features.

Of course, the actual design and balancing would be up to the developers. My main goal here is simply to see a Triglavian Strategic Cruiser seriously considered as a fifth T3C.

And while more EDENCOM or CONCORD ships would be welcome too, I’d love to keep this particular discussion focused on the Triglavian T3C.

Appreciate all the input! o7
