I read one or two books from the Foundation series, and they were surprizingly great. I’ll have to start again from the beginning someday, because I’ve forgotten too much to go forward. [_With Wings Like Eagles: A History of the Battle of Britain_](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3534214-with-wings-like-eagles), by Michael Korda. I wasn’t expecting it to be a page-turner, but it is. The guy who established the RAF Fighter Command was a gruff and surly genius and visionary. He foresaw what a future air war might be like, and set up an interlinked communications and control system before the war happened. A kindred soul to EVE player-types. ---

I haven’t been reading regularly for a while, but I borrowed a book from the library today. It’s looking interesting so far. **Delete: The Virtue of Forgetting in the Digital Age** Author: Viktor Mayer-Schonberger ISBN: 978-0-691-13861-9 It’s interesting to consider that the long term memory of the internet has had a significant impact on our lives, and that in the grand scheme of human existence this is still a fairly recent social change. It’s plain to see that it affects our decisions on how we express ourselves, knowing that a digital record is likely to be out there. I’m looking forward to reading more of the book, and considering if this lasting digital memory has been damaging to society or beneficial. And if we’ve generally adapted to the change, or if it’s a work in progress. ---
