> gankers indeed are. You should see them every time I make a post that CONCORD should react faster to multiple offenders on the same grid, so ganking could be an actual profession requiring a single brain cell to execute, they would cry me a retriever every single time.

But why should gankers cry less about proposed nerfs to ganking than, say, null-bloc members about proposed nerfs to ratting income? It seems like a rational response.

Also, ganking is nothing but an efficiency calculation, you silly goose. The only things that the single brain cell needs to calculate are the optimal ship/setup and how many of those ships need to be used based on the target and the location. If you make CONCORD react faster, all you’re going to accomplish is an offset to the calculation that would make ganking more expensive, not more difficult.

The only way that ganking can be made more _difficult_ is through the introduction of a human element (entropy) into the equation, and you’re not going to get that out of a patch change.

Also, I don’t know where you’re getting that 33-second figure from. Pulling in a 0.5 system adds 7 seconds to 19 and even with server ticks on your side, you’re not going to see a response that takes longer than 28 seconds unless something is wrong with the server.

Plenty of existing, living players don’t get ganked, so I just don’t see how that can be the case.

We’ve been in that discussion a good hundred times.
The only thing stopping absolutely every player passing Uedama from getting ganked is lazyness and stupidity of ganktards. Should they get rid of those two (luckily, not happening, as even a single brain cell barrier is considered insurmountable by majority of them), everyone who doesn’t quit will be ganked.

Seems like the very simple solution is to just avoid Uedama.

Of course it’s avoidable. No one _has_ to go there. It’s called EVE Online, not Uedama Online. There are like 7,000 systems in the game.

In case you totally suck at navigation as much as at pulling, I shall remind you once more that hisec is effectively split in two parts that only connect through Uedama, thus making it effectively unavoidable, if you want to haul anything more than one packaged cruiser.

I haul expensive stuff through Uedama all the time without any issues.

I mean, if someone _insists_ on going to/through Uedama, then there are precautions they can take, such as using escorts, web-warping, etc. But aside from that:

1. There are other routes connecting Caldari space to other empires.
2. Players can hire other players to haul for them if they feel unable to handle the risk.
3. Various diplomatic solutions.

It sounds like your issue with ganking is predicated on a single chokepoint system, but the reality is that it’s a self-made problem for players like you.

</div>

So what’s the difference then?

High-sec empires have never been connected by anything higher than .5 systems since shortly after the game was released. It seems to me like your whole big issue is that you’re assuming that there needs to be a travel route that’s free of possible hostilities, but that was very obviously never promised by the developers, and was never the intent. Like I said, this is a self-made problem for you.

Catalysts don’t apply all of their damage up front.

Nah. It would only mean that I can’t transport everything I want in a single trip. But I never made the assumption that I could or should to begin with, so I’m perfectly fine with that.

Seriously, can you even count?
If you have one extra, that means two of them need to be volleyed mid-gank (which is next to impossible) to counter that surplus. If you have just 5 extra on a 10 man gank, you can allow 10 to get volleyed and still pull it off. You scale 2 to 1 AT WORST. You can easily outscale almost anything.

> [@Destiny\_Corrupted](#):
>
> Nah. It would only mean that I can’t transport everything I want in a single trip.

Exactly. Do you have any idea how much that trip is worth? We’re talking tens of millions per roundtrip. There are no loads that can just cover this much of an expense and remain profitable against the goods already delivered to the market.

Essentially, multiple trip is another form of self-gank, where you prevent (not guaranteed) yourself from being ganked by ganking yourself first, thus utterly defeating the purpose of both your hauling, and the “counter-measure” you propose.

> That is not about “profit ratio”. I guess there’s no concept of margin in a risk-free idiot-proof occupation like ganktarding, so I will put in very simple terms: YOU GO TWICE, YOU ARE IN RED. You don’t get “lower ISK/hour” you get “negative ISK/hour”. You’re basically self-ganking, self-inflicting a direct loss by doing it.

I’m not sure how someone can go “negative ISK/hour” by taking two trips instead of one. Last I checked, none of the items in the game have an expiration date. Taking an extra half an hour to haul some stuff to Jita isn’t going to bankrupt me; it just means that I have to play the game for an additional half an hour instead of watching hentai or having an enjoyable conversation with you on the forums or whatever.

Thank you for your response 😁 The post was written in jest. I could have added a complete blackout and quadruple the danger factor anywhere. I chose not to, I didn’t want to upset more people about the future of their perceived _safe_ environment. The hint with concord was enough.
Please don’t try to turn this into another, sad “nerf ganking” thread, but keep it light hearted and fun. 2033 is a long way and that promised Gila will be worth its ISK value in real gold, lol.

p.s. the gist of my first post was about the economy …

You’re not intellectually dishonest. You just lack awareness of your cognitive bias. This is evident because you think that the person who “won” the argument was the one throwing insults and constantly changing their position (sometimes multiple times within the same post). But when someone does that, it’s not a contest/debate anymore, because the participants are playing vastly different games at that point. It’s perfectly alright to _enjoy_ someone’s posting, but you have to do it for the right reasons.

It wasn’t really off-topic. It was a tangent, sure, but not off-topic. Also you cleaned out like half the posts, and left a bunch of others that make for a broken and confusing communication chain.

I did enjoy it for my right reasons. Come on Cognitive bias my ass, the amusing part is that you are the most amazing poster on the forums, you really are top notch in how you make others feel small and as I said you use the rules for radical techniques so very well. And yet I laughed because I thought he had bested you and he did it in such a completely over the top manner, which I found funny, I am sorry if that offends you however.

Well that’s not my intention at all, so you’re making an error in judgement here.

I wish Bahamut didn’t delete all those posts, because it was very evident that I wasn’t talking down to anyone. All I did was deconstruct their arguments to get them bogged down in their own fallacies and inconsistencies.

There was a term used which was deemed inappropriate, hence the removal of a number of posts which referenced it. Although I agree that removing the posts causes broken and confusing communication, I took this approach rather than closing down the thread entirely.
