> The line between ganking and griefing ranges between non-existent to thin. If you blow up a miner for no reason other than to blow him up you are griefing. Period. And that is allowed. Griefing is allowed. Redefining it or the developer encouraging it doesn’t change the fact of the matter.

> No one is physically harmed. But it does cause salt in some cases and that it emotional harm. You don’t want to admit this because you don’t care about other peoples’ feelings and, not wanting to consider what that says about you as a person, you wish to dictate to someone else how they don’t feel rather than just admit you have no problem emotionally harming other people. Just be honest with yourself and keep it moving. No need to try and act like you’re some kind of empathetic kindhearted person. This world we live in is not the product of kind hearts. It reflects the people who live in it. And those people play EVE.

This is griefing.. If your toon is over thirty days old. It is open season. and extends to the sisters of eve epic arc. Now i have started and biomassed more than a few toon this last year. Not one of them was griefed. Nor was there any attempt either.

Griefing is not that much of a thing. Does it happen? Sure that is why this is in the EULA. But it is not a constant nor an ongoing problem. There are always a player in any game that wants to test how far they can go before the devs cheerfully slap them down or ban them.

In EVE the response to anyone griefing a new under thirty day player I have been told is pretty quick with only a warning or two and then banned if the player continues.

What you and your buddy here are contending is not griefing. It part of the game. I have in a previous post stated as much. If you think a player has broken the EULA and then fer gods sweet sake report the S.O.B. I mean that too.

And again mistaking a game for real life. That is just nonsense. As an EVE player I am EVE University. The oldest teaching Corp in the game. We do not punch down. Helping new players is pretty much what happens there.

New Eden is a wild west of hypercapitalism with near immortal pilots flying very unfriendly sky. If you were to show up on my overview and asking for help. I would do what I could. At the same time it would be with a measure of caution. This is Eve after all.

And yeah I have been accused of being a filthy arms merchant.. Which amuses the hell out of me. For very personal reasons.

And lastly I disagree with you. As it should never ever result in salty tears. If you lost a very expensive multibillion ISK ship + modules. Lost it for stupid reasons.

Not only am I not going to feel sorrow. I am going to shake my head in amusement. Now if it is lost in a battle. Well I hope the fight was a good one and that the player gave as well got. But salty tears for someone to drink. Nope. Take any game to seriously and you have this.
