How is that overpowered? Oh… you like the safety of local telling you who is in your system… go live in wormhole space for a while, it will break you of that need.

Even if CCP would recode cloak units so you have to reactivate after a cycle, it wouldn’t change anything. I have a gaming keyboard and I could set up a macro to cycle it for me… you don’t think others players can’t do the same? And yes, you could report them for AFKing… and then CCP will check up on them by sending a private message. At that point, I’ll see the message, I’ll put down the book I’m reading or pause the movie I’m watching; then deactivate the macro, and answer the private message. Since that will show I’m at my keyboard, CCP will apologize for bothering me… and I’ll reactivate my macro and go back to my book or movie.

After about 6 weeks of that, CCP will be tired of dealing with ‘false reports’ and drop the issue entirely.

If AFK cloaks bother you, go to high sec where you’re safe from them… or you could equip your ship with 3 stabs and go do your thing. If the cloaked ship doesn’t attack you after a reasonable time period, go back and equip as normal.

I’m not going to address the rest of your issues because there are little facts to support your argument. And no, pyfa stats don’t count as facts because it doesn’t deal with player skills.

You have long distance Lokis, great. I’ll just have my fleet of capitals run directly away from a stellar object and half another fleet warp in at like 50 to 100 off one of the first fleet ships in the middle of your Lokis… and if they are long ranged fit, well… short range weapons will start cutting them down.

Also, in real life, you don’t send huge aircraft carriers out without a support fleet to support them. That’s just dumb… and most alliances/coalitions are happy to have their newbros fly subcap ships for support.

Tactics and skills are an important part of Eve.

Mrs. Bald Anus,

Let’s try to get on the same page. Hybrids, Lasers, Projectiles, and Missiles all have a long range and a short range version. Short range weapons (i.e. blasters) do more damage and have better tracking, while long range weapons… get more range. And, as you move up in size, each weapon type will do more damage and have better range, but have worse tracking.

Now, not to be insulting, but I want to make absolutely certain that we’re all on the same page; small weapons are meant to be fit to frigates and destroyers, mediums to cruisers and battlecruisers, larges to battleships, and extra-larges to capitals (now just dreads). So, generally speaking, larger ships have more range than smaller ships.

Of course, it doesn’t always work out that way. Weapon platform, ammo selection, ship bonuses, mods and rigs, implants, drugs, and skills will all influence your weapon range to varying degrees. Thus, even though larger ships have longer potential ranges, and have more range on average, it is possible for them to actually have less range than a smaller ship. THIS IS BY DESIGN. Instead of ships having set damages and ranges, CCP balanced range with tracking and damage, and then gave us the option to choose. And this choice is pretty cool because it greatly increases the depth of the game and gives players access to different playstyles. For example, I know guys that love flying kiting ships that can more easily disengage from fights, while others prefer the (relative) simplicity and face-melting DPS of a brawler.

So, the choice is yours -and, what you chose will determine your engagement profile. Your fit might be a hard counter against some ships, but highly vulnerable against others. Other times, you might find that matchups between certain ships might depend greatly on the range the fight started out at -which is why you sometimes hear elite PvP’ers talking about dictating the terms of the fight. For example, something like a blaster dread with with a web and grappler will melt a kiting cruiser like… idk… and arty loki, but only if he is able to get on top of him. Failing that, however, and that arty loki will be able to sit back and strike at him with impunity.

Needless to say, I stand by my infographic concerning ship balance.

Sincerely,
A Sh1t Posting Troll

Speaking of which, most of the people in this forum aren’t trolls, nor are they sh1tposting. Of course, many of them have been… aggressive with their responses, but it would be unfair to dismiss their arguments as the work of trolls.

Also, I pray that your vision for Eve is never realized, because that is not the game I want to play.

There are a **lot** of things a competent dread pilot could do in that scenario. Warping away would likely not be required and in all probability it just blaps the loki, as the OP’s claims are fairly questionable (and questionable is basically a misspelling of “horseshit” in this case).

If you need some data to put this into perspective, here are all of the solo kills of dreadnoughts by lokis that zkill is aware of.

[https://zkillboard.com/ship/29990/reset/group/485/losses/solo/](https://zkillboard.com/ship/29990/reset/group/485/losses/solo/)

Some things you might notice:

-We hit all the way back to 2012 on page 1
-There is no page 2
-Most of the dread hulls are unfit and in wormholes, likely shat out by a dead upwell.

Here’s all of the solo kills of lokis by dreadnoughts.

[https://zkillboard.com/group/485/reset/ship/29990/losses/solo/](https://zkillboard.com/group/485/reset/ship/29990/losses/solo/)

Basically, the OP is living in a world of make-believe.

Dreads blap t3cs on the reg, while solo kills of (fit and piloted) dreads by lokis are virtually unheard of.

Nonsense. In real life, large ships (BS, dreads, carriers, etc) had armaments to deal with smaller ships and had no fear of not being able to take care of a few small gunboats.

Whilst its off topic anyway:

No, the primary difference between a Dreadnaught and a Pre-Dreadnought was the switch from mixed armament (in the Pre) to super 100mm primary armament and increased armour protection.

Hence why destroyer and light cruiser escorts were required.

I’m not sure what your point could be, other than “CCP purposefully put obsolete, mega-expensive, mega-skill-requirement ships in the game in order to troll certain players who decided to skill into and buy them. Working by design.”

There was no strawman presented. The guy said IRL all it takes is a fiberglass raft to take out a destroyer. Obviously, he stated this for a reason, and it is left to us to “fill in the blanks” what that reason is. The general context here appears to be what the power level of capships should be vs. small ships. He seems to have presented an argument in favor of having the cheapest, flimsiest, lowest skill requirement, lowest risk ships in the game dominate the largest, most expensive, most skill-intensive (yadda yadda) ones. If that’s not what he was arguing, then what was he arguing?

You are creating a strawman by attempting to place this as the argument against Loki-proof caps, as if there are only two points of view.

To support yours, you choose the single weakest to defend against.

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. I’m simply trying to QUOTE HIM. He is stating that a fiberglass raft can destroy a destroyer in real life. Since you claim I am somehow misstating his argument, then you tell me. What’s he arguing?

You seem to be saying that whatever that person posted is what you regard as the main reason against buffing Caps or nerfing everything else.

I cant speak for them.

Its certainly not my position, nor most who do disagree with the OP.

Why else did you chose to challenge that as opposed to any other? Is it because it is easy to refute?

ugh… couldn’t get through 264 posts on this but just had to say:

Op, you have a few options here regarding what you dislike about EVE. You can:

1. Continue to whine about your perceived issues with the game and continue to get knocked down (even if you don’t see how wrong you are);
2. Rage quit (I prefer you do this one and when so done, can I haz your stuff?);
3. Train into a Loki, go bag a couple of dreads and post the Killmails for us all to peruse;
4. Proceed with your life taking full satisfaction in knowing that what you complain about is simply a game and there are infinite other issues out there that could be addressed if you devoted even a fraction of your time to those issues instead of complaining about internet spaceships.

I certainly didn’t have anything devious in mind, and I have certainly challenged many other things related to the “capships vs. smallships” debate in many other posts. As to the particulars of how and why I chose this vs something else, I was busy doing other things, and quickly (I mean QUICKLY) scrolled through these posts. Anything that was “wall of text” I knew I wouldn’t have time to digest and respond to. Anything that was namecalling, trolling, personal attacks (and there were quite a few) I quickly scrolled by. His post was the first thing that jumped out at me as being “actionable” i.e. it wasn’t a personal attack, it wasn’t a wall of text to sift through, it was something easily understood, it was something I instantly had a thought on, it was something I felt was important to respond to, etc.
