Day one? Let me see, would it be about a week or two after I created my account, when my neighbor showed up and actually told me how to play it? Because all I did on day one was make up 3 characters with my grand daughter who did all the physical models of her Disney Princesses. I sat there reading and sipping on my tea. She was going to name them Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty I told her not to and I made the names Rose Ivory, Rosie Ember, and Rosalie Coma. She still persisted on attaching the Princess title on them. Then a week or more later, my mercenary nerd asked me why I wasnā€™t playing. I was like, mehā€¦ why donā€™t you show me. The rest I learned from YouTube. So not much of a story there. Have fun! ---

Sometimes you have to be persistent. If you do not hear in say a week. Find out who the recruiter is and send an email through the game. Some Corps, especially the larger ones, can be inundated with requests. Your may have simply fallen through the cracks. If you still havenā€™t heard back presume one of two things. One the recruiters RL has prevent him/he from being in the game or your application has not been accepted. And move on to the next Corp on your list. It ican be like job hunting. The company you may want to work for may not be as enthusiastic to hire you on. Also beware of any corp recruiter that really, really, wants you join. Is constantly sending you mail and trying to talk with you. Just a little FYI. ---

I canā€™t remember tbh. My 1st day was in 2007ā€¦ But it was probably quite ā€œboringā€ (slow), because of the learning skills we had in that era. I had to do them first before anything else. ---

Amazing. I got to learn the general types of activities to enjoy and how they worked. I did a few missions for each of the types of career agents. I lost a ship and it looked so awesome! But then as I played, I started to learn what to do and what not to do. The beauty is first learning whatā€™s available and how everything works. Once I did that, I started taking more risks and enjoying the game even more. I learned that you get from Eve what you put into it. If you are in a bad mood and play Eve, if something goes wrong you will probably freak out. So donā€™t play upset or angry. I find playing Eve while in a good mood makes the game even better. ---

Was carrying some low level BPOs in my Badger, along with a courier contract. Set the waypoint, not having any understanding about High/Low/Nullsec. The destination was a nullsec player station. I showed up but couldnā€™t dockā€¦ WTH? A ship undocked. Then anotherā€¦ then anotherā€¦ more and more until there were about 25 ships on grid. I was locked, webbed and scrammed by pretty much everyone and they were calling in a few more from other systems to get in on it. They were actually quite cordial in local chat. I lost my Badger that day but not before I learned about how courier contracts were used as bait. The really crazy thing is how far I made it through low and null without blowing up before I even got there. RIP S Antimatter BPO. šŸ˜¢ ---

This is a waaaaays back, but I clearly remember spending quite a few hours just figuring out how the interface worked, how to undock and pilot my ship, etc. It was kind of overwhelming at firstā€¦ ---

10 years ago now. I figured out how to undock and left my home station in a capsule and ended up in Tama 0.3 where I was duly destroyed and returned forthwith from whence I came. Only 4 jumps but it felt like Iā€™d travelled for ages.
