For an Orca? Naw. I wait a pair of turrets with bonuses to ore, ice and gas. It should outperform any of the medium-sized mining hulls. Exhibit A: Cost. Exhibit B: Size/maneuverability. ---

Back on the topic of ganking, I don’t even think it’s about PvP for ganking. It’s really about non-consensual PvP, ie: scamming, ganking, theft, griefing (less these days) - basically the evil/chaotic side of the game. Which is completely fine - I just wish they’d be more honest about it, ie: “My purpose in this game is to serve as a warning to anyone who cross my path.” Rather than the “EVE is about construction/destruction and I’m filling my part of the equation” or “thinning the herd”. In the not too distant past I remember that ‘pirates’ used to make players “sing for their freedom” - which was entertaining. This quickly devolved to ransoms for freedom (never honored) and finally just death via gate camps, ganks and cyno drops. The irony is that in adopting this type of “behavior” - they’ve actually eliminated and/or driven a lot of players from the game. It’s not a coincidence that FC rolled out Exordium. Contrary to various ‘numbers’ that have been thrown around, I suspect that throwing players into the shallow (high-sec) end of EVE wasn’t actually very productive for retaining (converting) new players. I imagine that over the next 4-6 months we’ll see quite a lot of new content in Exordium - further reinforcing this premise. ---
