Yes, I shouldn’t stereotype. But it’s amazing how often those stereotypes hold water. Fully half this thread has now been devoted to arguing with a halfwit who thinks the only way people should ever WANT to play this game is the way they play it. And those who don’t agree are somehow incompetent. ---

I know I know but you’re arguing with someone who not posts ago admitted to being here still solely to get a rise out of you. If you look back over the thread there is a clear silent majority emerging showing concern with these changes though the metrics. He’s lost his argument, you’re starting to make sense, and it pisses him off. He’s worried his lazy wellfare kills are endangered. You’ve won the forum war. As for the matter at hand, we have to wait and see. ---

They’re not getting a rise out of me. Biggest mistake they could make is to think that I’m upset about this at all. I think what CCP is planning is detrimental to indy, and another penalty for choosing to live and work in high sec, but I’m not kicking a dog over it either. ---

1. They are not destroying interdiction nullification, quite the opposite, the ships that were good at it will likely still be good at it, but also the function will be more broadly useable to more classes of ship. Making things active over passive makes more dynamic gameplay and if you account for the bonuses on the ships that used to have nullification those ships are able to bring their cooldown to near or below gate cloak timer. 2. Industry changes made more choices, and made choices more interesting. 3. New gates are another opportunity for us to shape the universe. The engagement with this event, and the results of it will create new choices. The systems they chose were very well targeted to make interesting conflicts over their construction/disruption. CCP is targeting things that were overall holding back the game from being about “a complex a vibrant universe with a vast multitude of ways to play”. The gameplay that is being disrupted is mostly non-engaging or causing damage to the overall ecosystem (too many Rorqs) in favor of gameplay that is more engaging and based on modern AI that behave like normal ships. Many of the things they have added actually creates new niches and new playstyles outside of null blocs including interesting developments in FW, Industry needs nullsec cannot easily provide themselves but will likely import from highsec miners and lowsec/wormhole reaction farms.
