Takes me ~150 seconds to clear a site.

CCP always regulates loot. They watch over the economy and make sure things don’t go off the rails. Why is this shocking?

This is good and work if you ignore the time between the killing. But this calculation only work if the next site spawn right after the cleared one, and best 1000m away.

But there can be up to 5 minutes between the spawns (in high sec), and you have to fly to the site.
5-10 minutes fit with my observations and runs. I did around 50 sites per day.

I did 5 min average per site, with warps between systems, in HS, over 100 sites.

So today we learned that when there is a only a chance to get something there is also a chance not to get that same something.

I got a Yoiul Accelerator last week before the Yoiul event had even started by the way. They were obviously in the loot table already. Dropped in High Sec from a Rogue Swarm Nest clear in a 0.7 System. Since then another 2 have dropped for me.

Ever since % chance / random loot drops became a thing, nearly 2 decades ago, there have been people insisting that certain things do not drop, just because they haven’t had them drop. Always makes me laugh, especially if I am the one with 3 of that thing.

Takes me 3-4 minutes to clear a site in my Hurricane. Then there is time spent finding another one. Sometimes another one is up as soon as I finish the first, at other times there’s a 5-10 minute wait but a quick warp to a neighbouring system usually solves that problem.

My experience is similar, but the rate of completion is heavily marred by the existence of other players slowing the rate

1. find two quiet systems. Yes, there’s many.
2. run the two sites in the first system. 7 minutes total counting warp.
3. jump to other system. repeat
4. rinse
5. repeat

I’ve noticed that when doing a site for the first time, loot is better. The more times run, the worse the loot gets. BUT, if I chill for awhile (couple of weeks) the loot goes way up in quality, and again, tapers off.

That being said, OP and I are inferring CCP is doling out loot on an individual player basis, and loot tables are not random. For example, on the first original Rogue Swarm site I did, I got a 5 copy BPC for Augmented Mining Drone. This sells for 100M + in contracts. Haven’t seen one since.

My experience may simply be coincidental, but I’m wondering if other players have had the loot increase in quality when taking a break from running the same type of site.

Regardless, life and EVE are not fair. I’ll keep playing, as it is infinitely more engaging than many RL pursuits…

Its possible, but unlikely.

From CCPs perspective, it makes little difference who gets the drops, or how often, regardless of how often they run the sites.

They dont care if its one guy that receives 10drops in a week of a certain type from farming hard, or 10 different guys getting 1drop each per week for farming less hard.

If it was the case that drops depended on activity, there would he a huge uproar from players if it ever came to light. I certainly hope this is not the case, nor want to believe CCP punish active players in this way.

Same feeling…

I didn’t posted a thread similar to this topic, because I haven’t any true evidence about it. Anyway, it looks like a paranoia. I noticed this in the loot drop and signature spawns. So I decided to perform an experience. During some Saturday I was able to roam the low-sec signatures in a small region (population was low at that time, without active explorers) for relatively long time. I scanned all signatures firstly, I made a sig-table per system, then I began to close some of them. Many Relic, Data and Combat sites didn’t opened in the current region’s low-sec again and with each another finished site the loot was worst and worst.

**I’m not sure, but I think there is a daily or weekly quota on in-game loot and signatures.**

There is. There is also a daily limit on the deadspace drops.

You will notice moments where 10th of signatures spawn at the same time.
Sometimes you will go do one of those sigs and it respawns withing the minute (sometimes even in the same system !)

Then you will notice NO sig spawn for several hours in a region.

The same applies for deadspace. Sometime you do 10 combat sites and no deadspace.
Then all of a sudden , the 5 sites you do have deadspace. And guess what … sometimes even the same loot.

There is always a pattern.
Just as much as we look for patterns, we also create them.

It’s easy enough to see when people look at clouds. “Oh, that one is a pony”. No it ain’t, its a cloud that accidently has a shape that triggers the part of the brain that recognizes patterns lol. Hell, every single video game utilizes the same mechanism. I know my Machariel is really just a bunch of pixels, but dann it it looks like a spaceship.

But yea, that’s all it is, people creating expectations based on the perception of a pattern that doesn’t exist. Every week on the pve forums these threads would pop up.

Fun thing is that it doesn’t happen in reverse. People get better than average drops (like 2 good ded site drops in a row) they don’t think “ccp must have buffed my loot”!

You do it too, though you may not recognize it,
Whether that pattern exists, is a matter or perspective.

If causality is true, all threads in this tapestry are drawn from the knots preceding it.

</div>

What I dont get is how you can say there is no patterns but I can show you stuff that CCP has programmed, and it must be programmed, for things like tracking, or shield regen rates that are obvious mathematical patterns hardcoded into the game to make it work. To me this line of thinking doesnt make sense.

Sure we are not privy to the formulas for loot tables, and for obvious reasons I might add, but that doesnt make it truly “random” by any stretch of the imagination nor ever will it be. That game balance people speak of so much on the forums is inherent in these loot tables, hell its why people call them loot tables to begin with.

Other games have broadcast their loot tables or % chances for drops much like we have invention chance formulas or can look at the PI graph to see the sliding scales for PI “loot”. We can understand the basic ore/minute rates due to ship and skills as a flat line.

So why is this suddenly such a stretch for some people to contemplate or understand? Doesnt make sense to me.

Now people have a point about the whiners posting on the forums about changes, that does get annoying, but its no less likely that its true than it is false in most cases that something has changed. 😉

</div>

To me its not about that RNG is R its that theres a formula telling you what dice to roll, d6, d10, d20, d100, in each situation. That dice roll is random, sure as are all dice rolls, yet the next dice roll will regress to the mean of the inherent formula in place. And that regression is also inherent within the formula itself.

But you’re still just guessing because there’s absolutely no way to verify your hypothesis.

So it’s just… RNG.
