It matters a whole ■■■■■■■ lot.

If there’s a 100 sites everyone and their mom has access to one and there’s hardly a point in broadcasting it on the map. You could put them in J-space too for all I care, I don’t see the point in broadcasting the locations in that case.

If there’s only a couple of them, or ‘5’ as you say, their location matters a whole lot more and they should be accessible if a gold rush to these sites is ever going to be a thing, which means they shouldn’t be spawning in some wormholer’s private backyard.

So, will there be 5 or 100?

Did it ever came to your mind that all those sites don’t have to spawn from a _single pool_?

Now I get your thinking…

OF COURSE at Null, Low and JSpace would get their OWN pool. Like X sites for JSpace 3X sites for Lowsec, 5X sites for Nullsec. Or whatever. Else ALL of them could end up in a single system or constellation and NONE anywhere else. Rest assured: No JSpace spawn would take _anything_ away from those greedy nullsec crabbers…

I’d laugh extremely hard if CCP hadn’t come to this idea themselves, a goddamn junior game designer can think of that.

Now I see where our difference in thought comes from.

From the video I got the impression these sites would be _rare_. Like _‘drop what we are doing there is a mining site nearby’_ rare. Gold rush-inducing rare.

But you think they will be abundant and that a few of them could easily spawn in j-space to give you easy access to the ore since everyone else has access to the new unique expensive ore too.

There’s just one person here greedily asking for access to the ore in their private backyard.

I couldn’t care less if the ore only spawned in low sec. At least in low sec I and everyone else can travel to the sites we see appear on the map. Wormholers too by the way.

doubt. I don’t want these sites for mining. I want them for shooting people trying to mine them.

And that statement _again_ shows that you simply don’t know what you are talking about. People in JSpace _barely mine at all_. Because they don’t live there for mining. Look at the MER. Just do it. The amount of Ore coming from Jspace isn’t even VISIBLE.

The only thing that comes in masses is GAS because you can huff that in absolutely dirtcheap Ventures and Prospects or Barges, no one needs Orcas or Rorquals for that. But for these new sites you DO, at least 3 Porpoises. And that offers CONTENT. The fewest people (including me) from JSpace give a damn ■■■■ about that “new ore”. They want to Pew Pew, especially bigger targets where an escalation is possible. And if a home-corp has 2 Orcas on the field and you go tackle them, that could trigger a goddamn nice fight.

Would you have the slightest bit of understanding about wormhole life, you’d know that. The new and fancy ore is completely irrelevant to us. The opportunity for content is.

</div>

This content is available to people who live in wormholes. It may not spawn in WHs but Wormholers can and will raid these sites in null and low if the connection is there. FYI the devs say that there will be more erratic ores in the future, and some of these might only be available in WHs, we don’t know.

</div>

This isn’t the point and I never have argued that.

If those sites in K-Space will offer interesting smallscale content, wormholers will try to get their share in kills. And of course we will use the KSpace connections we find to access them.

But you and I also know that KSpace is full of insta force projection and the design of these sites scream for blobby cyno warfare. Either cyno ambushes or umbrella protection. And combat in JSpace is more or less small- to medscale only, in fact wormholers live where they live because they hate all that cynoblobbing.

Such sites in JSpace would have offered _different content_, available for _smallscale crews_. Let KSpace have their stuff. Just don’t exclude JSpace _again_ for literally no reason. If you can name a _single_ downside of some of those sites spawning randomly in WHs, name it.

That that already been stated. They won’t drive conflict, there is no way to broadcast to all of New Eden of it’s location like it can in known space. Again, nothing is stopping wormholers from participating in low/null. You are asking for the rewards, but with less risk.

> [@Malak\_Starfire](#):

> They won’t drive conflict.

They would. As already explained. They are _exactly_ the kind of medium scale content drivers JSpace needs. A site worth risking expensive ships for that are also worth escalating a fight over, but also worth planning ahead for a proper ambush.

> [@Malak\_Starfire](#):
>
> Again, nothing is stopping wormholers from participating in low/null.

Cynocamped mining sites isn’t the content JSpace needs or wants. What JSpace needs and wants is content drivers that offer the following:

- reasonable worth to risk expensive ships that could lead to an escalation → check
- reasonable timeframe so between spotting, planning and ambushing isn’t multiple days long → check
- fightable both in defense and offense with small- to medium crews that doesn’t allow twelvethousandmen cynobloballiances to just hotdrop the ■■■■ out of anyone trying to make a move → check

**Lets conclude:**
Win, win, win scenario. Nobody is hurt, nothing is taken away. More player content opportunities. Nothing is taken away from anyone. There is _no downside_ having those sites in JSpace, just more content opportunities.
No, we _don’t_ want those sites to ‘safely mine all that precious ore’. Like 95% of wormholers give crap about mining, we want to tackle the Mining Command Ships of those who try and then fight with whatever they bring for defense. Or bait with Mining Command Ships and fight whatever takes that bait.

Except that this is LARGE scale content, this will be the most valuable ore in the game, and on the test server, hundreds of miners failed to mine the ore while it was phased in. This is content that can escalate to supers. You wanting less risk means it needs to be less valuable, aka NOT Prismaticite, but some other lesser value ore.

You can do this with how things will be, you just don’t want the risk.

Thats not “taking risk”, thats simply “stupidity” if you engage in cyno-warfare as a group of players that doesn’t have an own cyno-backup umbrella because they literally can neither build supers where they live nor bring their own capitals out of where they live.
Don’t act as if it would be even _possible_ for the usual JSpace resident group to fight in a pre-determined area against a group that outnumbers them 10:1 at least PLUS having a capital+supercapital backbone.

> [@Malak\_Starfire](#):
>

As already said like half a dozen times: NOBODY CARES FOR THE ORE. CCP can name it Crapismacite and make it less valuable if they like, as long as it is valuable enough that someone would dare to bring 2 Orcas or 3 Porpoises (or in rare cases a Rorq) into that site. So it has to be worth _something_.
Can’t be so freakin’ hard for CCP to come with a slightly adapted version of that stuff for JSpace. Nothing more is asked. Don’t worry, we don’t envy nullsec for their mining stuff -\_-. We want more content drivers and the design of that site _is able to deliver that_.

how stupid to expect a complete concept on launch that takes all areas of space into consideration -\_-, especially if the basic design of the mechanic is already there 🤣

Oh wait. We are talking about CCP here, focused on spoon-feeding nullsec for years and still not realizing that this concept has almost brought the game to it’s knees. 🤷

They have only had a few short years of “spoon-feeding”. After ignoring them after Citadels until Equinox…aka 7+ years. Scarcity, Trig invasions, Uprising, Havoc, etc all focused on not null. CCP has said WH is next, and it does look like it with the direction of the lore. May you get the Equinox treatment you are looking for.

Some more Catalyst feedback

Please don’t rename and dumb down all the asteroid names!

Not only does it suck all flavour out of mining, it also is redundant when the new mining UI shows ISK values of all rocks.

> Why would CCP get rid of the old flavorful names like “dense”, “fiery” and “golden” from asteroid descriptions?! cry Golden Omber, Platinoid Omber, Stable Veldspar, Silvery Omber, Dense Veldspar, Magma Mercoxit, Concentrated Veldspar, Vitreous Mercoxit… EVE has so many colorful descriptions of ores! And now it’s all going to be “II-Grade” or “III-Grade”?! Great way to reduce immersion and reduce this universe to raw numbers and tiered resources like some cheap knockoff game. …

The tiktok generation and its 5 second attention span is the new target audience, they lack the capacity to deal with nuance and detail, hence one of many such changes to come to EVE. 🤔

Can you give us an example of what you envision would be “interactive”? How often do buttons need to be pressed to prove that we’re still looking at the screen? 1 second? 5?

I haven’t seen any real examples from anyone. I apologize if I’ve missed any. Everyone simply seems to think that all miners hit the button and walk away for 3 hours. That doesn’t happen unless you have an illegal bot program.
