**The Winter of Origin** _The summer was long and our trees grew tall_ _We maybe thought the summer would not end at all_ _We deemed ourselves safe behind the cracked wall_ _We had forgotten; after summer comes the fall_ _High trees catch a lot of wind_ _And now our forest has been thinned_ _The Indigo Tears will keep falling for years_ _The loss was great, but not the darkest of fears_ _The fire had burned and cold wind was blowing_ _But the embers of our spirits still remained glowing_ _The Stitcher said_ _It’s not so bad._ _With needle and thread_ _We will patch this hole_ _Once more become whole_ _We still have our soul_ _We’ll climb back to the top_ _We’re not going to stop_ _or let our spirits drop_ _But on Renaissance the mountains are high_ _And there were some who could not help but cry_ _Yet we were hopeful, soon would come spring_ _We were looking forward to what future might bring_ _But wind kept blowing, chilled the embers in our heart_ _And like leaves of dead trees we were blown apart_ _As some searched respite under different skies_ _They never returned to see the Isis sunrise_ _Even The Stitcher said 't is the end of the show_ _The mountains are covered under far too much snow_ _Those of you who remain here just have no place to go_ _A few of us keep holding out and still hope for the thaw_ _But there’s no denying that winter comes after the fall_ ---

I’m going to give some background info that may help to fully appreciate this poem.
