We shared our smiles in the dark,  
Together, in the lonely night,  
Where pigeons flock against the cold,  
Witnessing hopelessness, despair,  
As the lights of a distant train,  
Wind their steady course to this stop,  
Then with lingering touch upon,  
Memories of joy, I farewell,  
A love that you may find anew.
