# YC 128 New Eden Capsuleers Writing Contest

100% agree. It rules out any character arc and the opportunity for something to change. Basically the challenge of the contest reduces to compressing an idea into a tiny space.

So I personally can’t write a short story of that length, but I can write a vignette (see below). Over the next few years you’ll get a chapter annually until the story resolves.
