Caldari Business School wants you! Money can’t buy you happiness but it can be rented Man is the animal that bargains be it through trust or scarcity Think coins of precious metal, banking and it’s killer app, credit If I have plenty I share it with my neighbors This makes them beholding to me the fundamental unit of commerce There is no unit of scarcity but of obligation The IOU not the ISK a lesson of the last war Credit did not come last it came first Coins eventually end up in a temple or church As tribute never to be seen again IOU’s are still better than coin coin is for eternal debts Religion, dowries at weddings, large social or moral debt (parking tickets) And injurious debts think John Grisham Yes, while there are many forms of currency money can be taxed Capsulers can freely give ISK but for contracts there is a fee The Axial Age of New Eden Amarr, Caldari, Gallente War, conquer, seize demand payment for damages The Military-commerce-slave-complex debt peonage Debt plus war taxes plus interest The wealthy know each other credit is a convenience The worker and their honest labor paid in hard currency Keeps in place the state backed violence Lenders and debt don’t know each other Money a unit of trust money a unit of scarcity Both are positive feedback loops As a unit of trust reinforces merchant power, trust and localism As a unit of scarcity reinforces cycle of military power, Dept, peonage and empire a truly free market does not use silver The pendulum swings with one loop dominating debt = forgiveness when not state sponsored enforcement but trust these came after mercantile free trade and universal colonial slave trade If your citadel expands followed by diminishing returns see the Caldari Union ~ Lionheart The Studio Poet ---
