We’ll be taking Tranquility down for a short, unscheduled restart and patch at 19:20 UTC due to several defects in today’s update.
A patch will be deployed to address two of the most critical issues: alignment times on the Golem/Paladin and Ansiblexes’ unintended ability to receive remote capacitor transfer power.
Apologies for the disruption - updates tracking the deployment will be posted here and on our status page: https://status.eveonline.com/
Update 19:00 UTC - Build has just finished and been tested - we’ll give people a 20-minute warning before deploying so they can wrap up what they’re doing.
19:01 UTC: Notification sent in-game; shutdown scheduled for 19:21 UTC.
19:21 UTC: Shutdown complete, patching has begun.
19:24 UTC: Patch deployed and should now be available for download in the launcher. Server boot-up will commence shortly.
19:28 UTC: Server is back online, and you are free to log in again. Patch notes have been updated.
I don’t know much about Ansiblexes but in a controlled way the ability to neut or cap up Ansiblexes’ actually sounds like it has potential for gameplay generation.
It was made clear from the start that ansiblexes would not receive remote capacitor transfers.
So when the patch hit and it was possible, this was clearly an unintended bug and not whatever conspiracy theory you made up.
(Also receiving remote cap transfers would be a buff to ansiblex-owning null sec groups. Null sec crying about it being not powerful enough makes no sense.)
Why do you always have to release patches that are broken? What about the C3 sites you can’t warp to cloaked? Do you even understand how this game is played? What about sleepers podding and targetting Zephyrs? Stay away from Jspace, you’ll break it even more.
CCP says Ansis won’t be remote-cap-transfer-boostable before the patch. CCP releases the patch. Ansis can receive cap transfer. This is beyond comical. Absolute clownshow.
This is also another instance for the broken promise that CCP’s work on modernizing the game and all the new tech in the background would lead to fewer emergency server shutdowns for stuff like this.
