For first 1-2 weeks you do not need omega status. Thats why alfa exist.
Only in the context of a ‘new’ player, due to the fact CCP does a terrible job of communicating how valuable SP and time is when starting out. A new player has poor knowledge of the game, they might not know what ‘career’ they wish to pursue and the optimal way to get there.
By the time a player has gotten a bit more knowledge and familiarity with the game, its also at the point where many beneficial items have lost effectiveness. Coasting those first two weeks in alpha state puts a player at a huge disadvantage, as there are boosters that give a unique bonus during the first 14 and 35 days in the game.
A two week old alpha has the same SP as a one week old Omega. A two week old Omega that’s used the 14 day +8 prototype accelerator has almost 250,000 more SP again.
No, it is not. Alpha accounts exist to pad out the population without having to add more NPC into the game.
In an optimized training plan, the first couple of days the best SP ROI is to invest in cybernetics ( to get attribute implants ) and biology, to extend the duration of event attribute boosters.
Is this less fun for the player? Of course, though so were learning skills, yet people understood the tradeoff in fun was exchanged for a more valuable long term benefit. There is too much focus on short term gratification and its been especially good to see this curtailed with the changes to filaments, particularly their use in deadspace.

If you calculate the isk lost for players during this “error” ccp just made like 1m usd more. No compensation given. no explanation either. People are paying to play this game. anomalies and sites is something people do because its a game essentially where isk is what grants oppertunities to do more. then ccp gets the brilliant idea. lets create a bug that prevents players to make isk because it is directly related to our income, 20000 characters 24h 100m isk an hour what does that calculate into in real life money. that is how much this “error” made ccp and cost the players. Essentially what should be returned to players as compensation. I feel sad about ccp not seeing that they have taken peoples money making them pay for a service they did not provide.
Guys I am not able to log into the game from the update on 18/3.
How do they expect us to pay monthly if w cannot log in? I have made a support ticket but still nothing. Too many things lost the last 2 days that I cannot log in and I don’t have any explanation why nor when the error will be fixed.
