History/description :
Mabad Ilhba Alasw’d (MABAD) or, Temple of the Black Flame, can be traced to origins at least 3000 years old, to a group of religious extremists/rebels that went underground during the Moral Reform when the influence of the Apostles was curbed. They adopted and refined certain esoteric, some say occult, practices and beliefs, many of which are given life by the use of proprietary biotechnological advances and are the reason for the distinctive physical characteristics of the Devoted.

While they violently eschew Amarrian politics and hold its leadership in contempt, they are highly Elitist, fanatically focused on pure Amarrian bloodlines, and only pure Amarr with a specific synaptic configuration are accepted into the fold. There are as-yet unproven myths of MABAD controlled inbreeding programs that have persisted through centuries. Candidates rejected are deceived into biomassing themselves. Once accepted, there is no life outside the context of the MABAD. Their core belief is that there is no other way to exist and indeed there are swift & mortal reprisals to themselves and others if a Devoted even considers leaving MABAD. Equally severe punishment is meted out for any form of questioning, doubt, or dissent regarding the Mabad Ilhba Alasw’d tenets.
