The “seal” on θ reminds me of the whirling … effect … above and below a hive nexus.
Theta is an Amarrian Statue, likely on the Amarrian Capitol.
Might be worth noting the images that look as tho they were stamped on the bottom right of each vision
After our combined DammFam and Vherokior fleet destroyed the ‘Vigilant Dreamer’ in Larkurgei and Gulfonodi we can confirm the data presented here:
I must say that the Drifters have a very hard to crack system that required multiple hackers and capsuleers working together to overcome the security systems. But we could decrease the time for our successful intrusion from 2 hours to 20 minutes so that’s almost a magnitude we gained in speed now that we are more familiar with the Drifters infrastructure.
Sadly besides a lot of human simulations and weird vision captures there is not much we can decypher… that could help us understand their motives.
Capsuleer Kaj A Beardhat has put together a montage that makes this idea even more believable.
A full picture of this statue:
I have a theory about this vision, called δ by the way, I think it could be symoblic communication and therefore the seemingly screaming faces could represent infomorphs. But what kind of infomorphs could be represented? Either they are Upwell Workers infomorphs depicted with a pained expression because the Drifters assume or know that this is what they are going through in the Warden or they are Jovian infomorphs that they might want to free from the Warden and the Deathless Circle.
These pictures are basically just a classier version of ■■■■-talk about we gonna invade y’all’s home system, are they not?
If there is actionable information here, I fail to see it. It does not come as a surprise that Drifters do not particularly like us.
It’s a nice view of the caravanserai though. gotta give them that.
It’s possible. It’s also possible that it’s something darker, like snapshots taken from simulations they’re running using their captured copies. They may not feel that their projections of what will happen, when, and why have not been accurate enough to suit them, so it’s possible they’re trying to extract better data by getting a hold of people who will act more people-like under pressure.
Depending on how the Drifter consciousnesses, however they function, have modified themselves, it’s possible they didn’t remember, say, the impact of cortisol on decision-making in people who still live in bodies.
So, sure, they might be taunting us. We might also be glimpsing scenarios they’re considering-- and by “considering” I mean “gaming out.”
They’re not mutually exclusive options, either.
Oh-- as a note, it looks like every one of these scenarios showing Drifter weapons fire features synchronized use of the big guns, so to speak-- the “Lux Destructorum,” I think it was?
(Can someone whose Old Amarrish is a bit better check that? The “Light of Destruction,” anyway.)
It’s the Drifter doomsday strike. It might not be on the same level of planet-killing horror as a titan superweapon, but anything on the receiving end of multiple synchronized hits is probably going to be having a bad time. Just ask Empress Jamyl I.
I think it is safe to assume they want to perform a strike at the seats of government for the Big 4. It would be the best way to cause disruption, for whatever their goals are. They already know what the Amarr will do in the event of a loss of an Empress, what happens when they take out all 4 heads of government, along with more bureaucracy of that government? Surely they must know that we capsuleers are not bound by those governments though, as it has been US that have thwarted them in the past. The Deathless know our power, have goaded the Angels and Guriastas to use our thirst for violence to their gain. These attacks may be cripple the Empires, but they will not cripple US.
I would petition the Deathless to share with us his secrets, so that we can better thwart the Drifters. I would also petition the SOCT to stop hiding information and actually be honest with us and the other Empires. The SoCT have not been fullfilling their civic duties to the rest of New Eden as the successor of the Jovian Directorate. What secrets do these Jovian successors have? What are they not telling us? Would Venial really want the SoCT to keep their secrets in this time of need?
I mean, sure, it could be whatever. I am not a Drifter and I do not expect I know how they think.
It is hardly actionable intelligence, though.
It is still politically advisable to pretend I don’t speak any kinds of Amarrish so I cannot help you with the language.
You know, I’ll second what Malak said. The SOCT is a deceptive, duplicitous, mendacious, and I’ll go so far as to say untruthful, organization that quite honestly seem to prioritize their own power and profit over anything else. Which wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for most organizations these days, but their self-serving and dubious claims of philanthropy look like just a cover for their, to be blunt, absolute lust for advanced technology.
They’re the inheritors of the Jove, but what does that mean? The Jove were puppet masters and played the empires to their tune by doling out technology here and there. With seemingly no Jove left, these SOTC goons come in and just claim they have the right to take over the Jove’s seat?
Here’s a question. If the SOTC are so arcane and mysterious, and know oh so much about Jove technology (being the inheritors of it and all), why are they so intent on hoarding Drifter technology? Presumably, it would be comparable to Jove tech, so why the big push to “research” it? Could it be that they don’t actually know nearly as much as they seem? Or maybe it’s because they don’t want YOU to have it? Could be both?
Then it’s working as intended.
He is not the only one to have received this message, other capsuleers have reported receiving this message from Malaya Hrada.
New spectral vision captures have been found.
“κ Spectral Vision Capture”
“λ Spectral Vision Capture”
“μ Spectral Vision Capture”
This is what we get if we put some captures side by side.
μ+θ
δ+λ
κ+η
This symbol at the bottom left of the “Torment” vision reminds me of the Jovian Directorate’s symbol.
saying this since 2 years, but who cares ?
Although … not to make light of it, but … it looks like the Blood Raiders blood fiend done as an emoticon.
As a component of a more complex image, though…
So … is this how the Drifters communicate threats, now?
“Even our simplest, most base desires are too sophisticated for you to grasp, so here’s an elaborate puzzle for you to piece together the inevitability of your doom?”
Well … I kind of have to join Elsebeth here, a little, maybe-- these do appear to be threats and they do come off disappointingly, “WE KILL YOU!!!”
There might be elements here we can use to resist more effectively but still this is a little disappointing. We get more nuance from Ushra’Khan.
The last time I was this underwhelmed by an archaeological/linguistics discovery was when I found a pristine page of a crumbled Takmahl manuscript that said “This page intentionally left blank”.
