I’m glad they broke the ban report down this month, but it also shows that the vast majority of bans were for mass auto-signups. So they’re really only scratching the surface here with bans for actual exploits and offenses…

The fifth circle of Hell punishes the wrathful and the sullen, with souls either fighting violently on the River Styx or submerged in its murky waters.
The Ban Report is nice being able to point the Doomsayers to.

The 5th ring is Anger in that version, souls waging battle on the River of Styx. However D&D has 9 levels of Hell and those are controlled by various devils. The 5th level is Stygia, a barren, icy landscape. A few islands among the sheets of ice on the river Styx carving a route through the ice. Stygia is ruled over by the Archdevil Levistus trapped in ice by Asmodeus ruling telepathically from his icy prison.
I find the Chinese version of Hell very interesting. According to Taoists there are 10 courts were you face trials and are judged. However the Chinese says 18 levels and the 5th is the Hell of steaming, darkened bodies, and tongue ripping.
Very cool. I think the common theme is that hell is a bureaucracy. One is sorted, assigned, confined.

Yes. If you study the original Greek mythos, Hades was not a ‘bad guy’, he was placed in charge of the dead in the underworld by his brother Zeus. All of the versions of Hell, seem to be the same pattern of the inner most ring being the best part of downtown and the outer ring being the worst. Every culture’s version since then feels like a direct plagiarism from that theme.
