As it stands, I doubt that all-out war would achieve anything but weakening the State even if it won. And vulnerable nations are capitalized upon by their erstwhile allies. The Empire could do nothing BUT swoop in and gobble up the State, justifying it by whatever means they could.

Race for the Hives inquest tangled in Gallente bureaucracy leading to “indefinite delays” in publishing
I’m sure Aguard or her allies are behind this. The Federation is in a really bad situation with Aguard in power if they can’t even publish such an inquest just because Aguard don’t want the whole cluster to know how much her administration failed, in addition to every other failures and bad decisions of her government.
Just a reminder that it was on December 20th of YC 126, the Presidential Elections have been postponed. Nearly 8 months, and only a brief period of that actually saw Drifter attacks. We saw more upheaval with the Triglavian invasion and terrorist attacks that occurred when Aguard was elected. We’ve been met with failed inquests and radio silence on when democracy can resume. Aguard assumed office May 15, YC 122, her term should have ended and either been renewed by the voting population or have been replaced by her successor already. And yet we have hear no news of any Senator, Judge, nor the large bureaucracy itself speaking out in protest. I am most troubled by the lack of news from even Senator Suvio Bellaron, an often outspoken critic of Aguard’s Administration.

To be honest, I will prefer to defeat the Federation face to face. It gives no merit in finishing off enemy being torn by civil war or political upheaval. On the other hand, it is more profitable as it will save lives of many State citizens while gallenteans are killing each other.
