Is it worth it to max out subsystems?

Hi whats the performance like for strategic cruisers with all lev 4 and 5 skills , also why its in intel/memory category … good that i did not change from tanking skills lol.

It depends on the subsystem of choice and your fit.

For some subsystems + fit combinations you really want level 5, for others it’s less important.

A sniping rail Tengu benefits greatly from offensive subsystem level 5 for example.

Also note that half the subsystems are int/mem, the other half are another setup.

If you do mostly combat, start with Perc/wpr build and train your ships with guns. Then switch over to InT/memory and fill in all the secondaries to support your pilot.

For t3c, skill it to 5 in order of importance to your tank or DPS. Things like subsystem for active armour rep will stack and accumulate by percent like passive shield regen (drugs included). Usually theres 4 out of 5 that are def lvl5 goals.

If your serious about any ship fit l, it should be all lvl5s in every single skill because that’s how an FC decides his ranges and speeds. Be a great pilot and go lvl 5 everything.

You don’t want to be the guy who needs to shoot missiles at the ops 35km away and your misses only do 33km.

And considering Subsystems are only 256K SP per level, and there are only 4 instead of the old 5 per faction, they are a cheap and easy train.

In before FC decides to raise the SP amount by increasing their ranks for subsystems further…:smiling_face_with_horns:

A Tengu with level V on all Caldari subsystem skills, and all the relevant missiles skills…

Unequivocally yes. I probably wouldn’t undock a T3C without 5s in all subs, at rank 1 they’re barely even a train. 4 in strat cruisers is fine.

What Namdor said.

Used to be that dying in a T3 made you lose 1 level in a sub-system, so you always needed to keep a pool of SP ready to push it back to 5 if you lost one.

I guess there might be a few fits/uses where only having 4 would work well enough, but typically all V is what to aim for.

I’ve had T3C fits before where I didn’t care about one of the subsystem skills, but they aren’t long trains so definitely get them all to 4 for your choice of T3C. And get the useful subsystem skills to 5.

The T3C skill itself is a nice help while overheating, useful but doesn’t need to be 5 initially. Aim for 3+

Yes, it’s worth it to train them to level V. They’re cheap, give you good benefits in return, and you don’t lose those benefits when your ship is destroyed, as you did previously, right? If this is a dilemma for you, focus on general-purpose cruisers like the Loki and Tengu.

Ah i see they removed skill point loss from strategic cruisers and its less to train ok then i am maxing it out

Why can’t we all just hold hands and sing songs? There shouldn’t be any guns in this game because guns hurt people. You don’t want to hurt people do you? That’s vile.
