The guide is over 2 years old. It appears to have been updated to reflect the Aegis patch from July, 2015. A lot of the information is still valid but a lot has changed and a new player won’t have enough experience with the game to tell them apart.
Things like Upwell structures, skill extractors, Alpha clones and numerous other changes have been made over the past 2 years.
The https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Main_Page has most of the same information and is reasonably up to date.
