Nah, I don’t buy it. “Blame the first guy, the rest of us are just catching up to what’s already out there, you can’t blame us for going second” is the same logic the first guy will use: “Look if I didn’t research it, someone else would have, any of us could have been first, so you can’t blame me for going first”.
As far as I’m concerned, there is no concern. Tons of terrifying technology is already out there. Rogue drones and things we don’t even know about. Before the Trigs showed up and made themselves known, the technology was out there, but we were none the wiser.
All this high talk is moot anyway, it’s about people trying to live their lives and not get killed. Survive. And make the most out of a bad situation.
