Of course people can afford it, however i dont see much reasoning behind it there are two types of chars being sold either its new main or focused alt, your toon might fit for someone fancy who wants to fly all 4 supers and titans for some weird reason. However not for me i am looking for purely Nyx focused pilot with minimum other skills as they wont be used :).
