EVE can be downsized dramatically in costs if PCU drops dramatically.
Wont be much of any development, but EVE can shamble in zombie-mode pretty much indefinitely for very cheap.
We already have Zombie mode - spinning ships in station…
Here are a few things CCP could have introduced a long time ago to improve both the NPE and to satisy veterans:
- Free ‘Tickle Me Hilmar’ plush for a year’s sub
- Free James 315 plush for unsubscribing
- Sqwirls
- Steeds and Wings
- DED shorts and sliders
- Microtransaction Invulnerability
- Real Aura Dolls
- Cooking in Stations
- DUST. 315
- Fedo racing
- Fedo eating
- Robin Williams Doubtfire Skin range
- Ganking drones
- Mobile Tuning Units
- FoF dating
- Plus size character models
- Minus size character models
The list goes on. Suffice to say, they’ve had their chances.

the thing is that whatever investor will pay for it, is less than the money people will put in.
you can say whatever you want about investment, but all in all, it is players who paid for the game, and devs who made it.
so it would be better for us to join our money, buy back the game, and make it an open community project.
At least the future improvment would be gameplay oriented and not for company income.

That would wreck HS. So many mercs and not enough decs. It would break alliances to make coalitions of corps, corp jumping and allying would be insane. It would be like removing the apex predator from an exosystem then the crys about ganks would truely be out of hand. Also, there would be many many more ganks due to the broken dec system.
