It would be awesome if there could be an additional feature thrown in to the “Configure Container” GUI that would allow a container to be included in the auto-fit feature, for people like me who like keeping their inventory tidy, but also enjoy collecting dropped items with the hope of using them on a ship some day.

It would be nice if you can sell items back to the owner. Maybe owner was attached to their previous fit/cargo and would like to get it back with 10% discount. So keeping a name of the previous owner (who used them before on the ship) will be a nice feature as you can also build a lovely ship from donated parts <3
Edited: not fully in topic, but I followed the idea of contracting from container (previous post)… as now you have to put modules into containers if you want to split them by previous owners… to sell it back to them later… but on the ship you likely have only one container and all loot ends there and cargo mixed together.

A regular request, and I love this version of the request.
It would be great if we could let auto-fit pull from specific containers. I too have spare fits in containers and containers with spare modules and would benefit from such a QoL improvement.
I however also have containers with full fits for other ships and wouldn’t like the auto-fit feature to pull out of complete sets for other ships, which breaks my full fits and would happen if auto-fit could pull from any container. This is a major downside of the more common version of this request.
Your suggestion is to only allow pulling from specified containers, which is great because it doesn’t run into that issue.
