Congratulations to Alix Moreau and the Autonomists

I would like to congratulate President-elect Alix Moreau on their electoral win. I look forward to seeing how the Gallente Federation evolves over the coming years under their leadership.

Now with the election decided it comes the time for the parties to come together to form the Federal Government we will see move our Federation forward. I hope to see a willingness to collaborate in the years ahead as our Federation pushes forward into a new era of high level social unity and we revisit the autonomous values of our constitution for the individual federation members.

To some, that sounds oxymoronic. Autonomy and unity are opposites are they not?

I strongly disagree. Autonomy is the ability to govern and manage oneself without outside assistance, within reason. It does not mean isolation from the whole, but self sufficiency for the betterment of the whole. What is good for Intaki may not be so good for Clellinon. And what is ideal for Dodixie, or Luminaire, may not be in the best interest of Averon or Scuelazyns.

It is our individual self sufficiency and willingness to come together to aide one another in unity when needed, that makes us a unified Federation and makes us strong. Each tree in a forest can stand under it’s own weight, and grows its own way. But together they withstand the gale of the storm.

Whereas a lone solitary tree, no matter how large and strong, would surely be snapped, broken and ripped out by it’s roots.

President-elect Moreau, I look forward to see the progress you push towards within the Federation.

Candidate Tenzin I do hope you continue to hold to your beliefs and you and your party will back President-elect Moreau in the coming years for the good of the Federation.

Candidate Roden, accept this outcome with the dignity your family name demands, and step aside. Principled opposition has real value in a democracy. Contrasting opinions like yours and your parties are vital to build a strong core to our Federation. However the time for contesting this result has passed.

This is an opportunity of a new era in the Gallente Federation, an era of progress and a reaffirming our beliefs as a democracy on the galactic stage.

Let’s not muck it up.

I voted. But I can’t remember who.

She was not our choice, but at least it’s not Roden. I still wanted to see Tenzin as president, but maybe next time.

Something I highlighted in another discussion was, it would be quite a move if the soon to be Moreau administration incorporates and collaborates with Tenzin.

Initially my vote was for Tenzin, as my interest is in humanitarian affairs and human rights for baseliners and clones alike.

However my concerns with the state of affairs in Gallente, set me to vote to Moreau as, not the better candidate, but one that could truly radically change the democratic system for better, for all.

I hope to see, in the future, both Moreau and Tenzin collaborate and even have a post election interview together.

Alix Moreau “won” with only 34.8%. That’s rather weak mandate.

A very sound point the times ahead will be testing indeed.
