The ore is worth like 2kk, it’s silly to be this bothered about the potential of making your 600kk Hulk lossmail 2kk blingier. Just jetcan the ore while you’re aligned, the Orca has a massive tractor beam range boost for that very reason.
Zeolite is only worth 2k? Weird.. I have several hundred million ISK of the stuff in my station.
kk means million.
I still have several hundred mil of the stuff. You can easily mine 200 million in one sitting even on a bad day.
You’re not fitting 200kk zeolite in a Hulk.
That’s true. But that fact will never change the strategy I use. I’m not going to play the same way everyone else does. Someone somewhere decreed that aligning is the one and only way to protect a mining ship and everyone follows it like a bible. I choose not to. It’s the Orca’s job to protect the ships under its command.
In the time it takes me to jetcan the ore, I can dock inside the Orca. Same amount of time. Orcas aren’t powerless. They’re fortresses that have the ability to lend that defensive power to other ships. The fact that many players are unaware of their true potential is mind boggling.
Nothing will change the stragegy you use. Because you really believe it’s a good one. ![]()
I don’t even want to imagine how long you have to mine HS moon ore for 200M ISK, even in an Orca-boosted Hulk. That thing has a yield of what? 45m³ per second?
Means 2.700m³ per minute.
Means 162.000m³ per hour.
Thats… 16.200 Zeolites, worth.. 30M? 35M after refining? -_-
Oh god… what did you say about “strategy”?
Yikes. And one “session” nets him 200kk? He mines for almost six hours a day?
See? That’s why I know you’re so full of ■■■■. All of your posts always end with petty insults. I do what I do in High Sec because you’re a shining example of the type of people in Null Sec. “you can make more in null.” Yeah, if I cared, I’d go there. I can’t stand the people though. If Null Sec is too empty, maybe Goon shouldn’t have destroyed PH. But hey! Come to High Sec and show me how easily a skilled pilot like yourself can destroy my mining ships. Pack a lunch though because I don’t play that often and I mine even less. But I’m sure years of sitting and doing nothing for 20 hours a day at a gate will come in handy when you’re waiting for me to log on.
Aligning and D-Scanning and using the Intel channel all make sense in Null, but High Sec is different. I don’t need a fleet of combat ships sitting around my ships to take out the pirates.
And if I did mine in Null, I’d simply use a Venture for gas huffing. Zero loss. I could buy 50 of them and mine until I run out. Sell the gas and done. But for now, I’m flying good ships in High because I choose to.
Whats “insulting” in stating the fact that using the combination of a 2B+ Orca + 300-600M Hulk (depending on the fit) that nets 30M per hour isn’t a very good “strategy”?
You know, there are decisions that are simply objectively bad. And mining MoonOre in HS is one of those decisions. It isn’t smart. It doesn’t show expertise. I mean, you absolutely can do that if that is your idea of playing EVE. If it makes you happy watching mining lasers cycle for 6 hours, more power to you. But even remotely talking about “peak efficiency” in this context is simply hilarious. You are as far from being “efficient” as you can be in that game.
And? I’d never fly those ships in Null Sec. Everyone in Null outside your corp/alliance will seek to destroy you or run from you. Or both…
I like my ships, but that’s a High Sec build. If I was to ever fly that build in low, the ships would get destroyed in an instant. Orcas can’t align. They have a zero velocity siege mode penalty and they are 100% immune to remote shield boosters while sieged. Why the hell would I fly it outside of High Sec without a fleet of combat ships to defend it? No chance in hell unless someone else wanted to pay for the ship. It’s sure as hell not coming out of my pay. Not when I can mine gas in a Venture for free. I’ve no desire to ever mine null sec ore. Gas huffing is free and High Sec is fun.
All Null Sec ships have to do is bring along a few neuts and the Orca dies easily. Gets expensive in High Sec, but it’s cheap in Null.
It’s kind of funny to see Glen rant about how he would do things in null sec and how high sec is supposedly so much better.
Not everyone who thinks high sec income is bad is a null sec player.
For your information, Glenduil, Syzygium is no null sec player either.
As a null sec player I would say that caring about the ore in your cargo stops being worth it once you’re flying Exhumers. Your ship is worth a lot more. Make sure people don’t catch your ship.
I never said I’d do anything better in null. Please stop spreading untrue statements about me.
I never said you’d do anything better in null either.
What I’m commenting on is how you say you “would do things in null” even though you don’t do things in null.
Flying only Ventures to mine makes sense from the perspective of a miner in HS who is too scared to mine where CONCORD does not go, but makes less sense if you had some experience outside HS space.
Personally if I had no experience playing in a part of space I’d not claim how things are done in that part of space, or at least I’d listen to the people who do.
Are you speaking for all Venture pilots huffing gas or does this only apply to me?
Are you speaking for all Venture pilots huffing gas or does this only apply to me?
I’ve had experience there. I also currently play with others who used to live in null but now live in High Sec. Not everyone enjoys it. I know… you don’t want to hear that. You refuse to think about the fact that any9ne could live in high sec simply because they just dont like null for whatever reason.
You are mistaken.
I don’t mind if you mine in high sec.
I just find it funny whenever you share what you supposedly know about life outside high sec, because it is so different than how I’ve known the game in that part of space.
If you were mining in high sec and didn’t say anything about other parts of space I’d doubt I would even be talking about this point in this thread.
I don’t. I never presumed to. But I’ll always stand up for myself each and every time someone tries to taunt me and insult me because I won’t fly my expensive ships into the line of fire just for the privilege of getting blown up and losing money outside of High Sec like it’s some giant badge of honor. I don’t care about the ISK. Null Sec isn’t fun for me. I didn’t enjoy it then and I don’t see any reason I’d enjoy it now.
I never said anything about knowing my way around Null Sec. I do know my way around High Sec and I play accordingly. I’ve lost a few ships, but never once have I lost a mining ship to gankers. Obviously what I do in High Sec works despite Null Sec people insisting I hit D-Scan every two seconds while aligning my ships continuously. What I do works.
High Sec isn’t Null Sec or I would not be playing this game at all.
You lose money every hour you mine in HS. Just sayin’
I make more before downtime than you in a week and I can’t care less if I lose 2 dirt cheap Covetors every 14 days doing so. Well, haven’t lost some in half a year, but well…
But hey, go aim for “peak efficiency” mining moon ores in HS… not that it makes any difference how you mine there, aligned, non aligned, jetcanning, close to the Orca or tractoring… it all stays a complete waste of time when the goal is “efficiency”.
Besides- Why do Null Sec people care about CONCORD? Don’t you all fly ships that cost 300 trillion and enter them into the demolition derby on a weekly basis? Shouldn’t you all be chomping at the bit to fly Marauders into High Sec every week to smash them against miners? Why are Null Sec people worried about CONCORD?
Don’t you all wipe your asses with ISK?
