The skills to sit in a carrier and undock it take 2 months to learn. The skills to actually equip it and pilot it and defend it and move it take years.
So somewhere between 1 billion and 100 billion isk.
What you can do is go to the skill spreadsheet and aim at the carrier of your choice. add the skills in a plan and then add every skill required to get it to level 5. Then put every essential supporting skill you added to 5 (shields / armor/ fighters / propulsion / fuel / warp etc etc). You will probably hit the 150 skill limit with a 2-3 year schedule for over 60 million SP assuming you are running +5 implants and genius boosters. And that is JUST for the carrier - no skills in any other ship good enough to keep you alive for more than a few days. Carrier is your only real ride.
Carrier is a dedicated career path. There are a lot of REALLY ■■■■ carrier pilots who train the basics to get in the chair as fast as possible, and if they are lucky they have a big corp fleet around them to keep them alive. But there are very few EXPERT carrier pilots - and when you meet one he is a force to be feared and respected.
So: 1 Billion for a temu carrier paper tiger pilot.
100 billion for the real Sher Khan.
