Esi.evetech.net is down

It appears that the DNS name isn’t resolving correctly.

I’m not able to connect or use SSO to login to third party sites.

Flush your DNS caches?

No A record found lol

It’s down according to https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/esi.evetech.net too and I wasn’t able to login to https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ or https://lazy-blacksmith.space/. Both report a server error.

if I remember correctly, last time I saw this was someone deleted the domain zone from DNS provider.

Eve is dying!

My servers are located in ShangHai and Tokyo
, and these servers also cannot access esi.evetech.net

makes raising standings difficult whenever you can’t esi lol.

I have the same issue.

$ nslookup esi.evetech.net

*** Can't find esi.evetech.net: No answer

$ nslookup esi.evetech.net 8.8.8.8
Server:		8.8.8.8
Address:	8.8.8.8#53

Also, EVE Launcher shows no current users on Tranquility. I assume it uses data from ESI, too.

so whats up with the ESI as my excel sheet took a dump

Looks like it is back up.

For a little detail:

esi.evetech.net isn’t a domain which is put in place by a person. It’s part of the deployment process for ESI. which is running on kubernetes.

While I don’t have details, my strong suspicion is that there was an issue with something with the underlying k8s cluster, which caused esi to keel over, and the domain to be unpublished (by an automatic process)

So, it runs on the cloud platforms?

ESI? yep. part of the design goals, so it’s not directly part of the monolith. I think it’s on AWS.

Obviously it has to interact with the monolith, but it can be restarted independently.
