I recently came back to EVE, with the crazy idea to become a space trucker and have my friend scout ahead. I’ve been using lots of different tools in the past to plan routes, but wanted something that would help us play together without necessarily be in voice chat.
I’ve created, EVE Courier, a minimalist tool that helps me plan my routes from my courier contracts, check gatecamps, do arbitrage, and follow my buddy in realtime on the route.
What it can do currently:
Create routes, display ships and pods kills, gatecamps, lawless systems
Auto-updates the kills statistics / gatecamp intel while you are traveling
Auto-detects if you are in a fleet, displays fleet members position in realtime on the route
Shares all your saved routes to members of your active fleet
Pushes the route as waypoints in-game from your current location
Fetch private & corporation contracts
Save route to contract pick-up or destination stations (the contract details are then shown in the route planner)
Even though it is still fresh and a bit oriented to my playstyle, I think it can be a valuable tool for any kind of player, and so I thought it would be nice to share this project with the EVE community.
It is very minimalistic and I am aiming to keep it that way. I am still happy to hear any feedback and suggestions!
I have just added a new feature in the Route Planner that calculates the route with shortcuts to Thera/Turnur systems if there are connections available.
Shortcuts will only appear if the route preference is set to “Shortest Route” or “Prefer Low/Null-Sec” .
A new version has landed, which now allows unlogged users to use the route planner!
This is very useful if you just want to use the app solely as a gatecamp check.
The features that are disabled when you are not logged in are the fleet tracker, saving routes, pushing them to the autopilot, and finally the contracts page.
Another big update with a new feature that I have been trying out since a few weeks, the Arbitrage Finder, now available if you are logged in with your EVE Online account.
It fetches market data for the major trade hubs and all other markets in systems 10 jumps around them every 5 minutes. It is possible to search and filter by hub, investment, cargo size (presets can be added), and total profit.
Profit includes the Accounting skill level (retrieved from the character logged in to EVE Courier.)
Each opportunity details are also available, and contains all the market orders you need to buy from and sell to, with the amounts and prices. Please note that the tool excludes contraband.
Each found opportunity has a “save” icon that saves the route to the route planner. It can then be loaded by you, or your active fleet members. Also, when loading a route that was created from the Arbitrage Finder, a widget (similar to routes saved from a Contract) appears on the top right, with your current trade info. Item name and amounts can be copied to the clipboard.
With the announcement of the new “starter zone” Exordium, and the AIR Trade Center station that will be the main trade hub for new players, I would like to share that Manifest is now a main trade location in EVE Courier.
This means the market data for all stations in Manifest and all nearby systems (10 jumps) is now included in the Arbitrage Finder. Please note that the Exordium region is not yet accessible to players and will be open in early May.
