So for this project, Clockwork Studios decided to go in a bit of a different direction than most of the other entries. While the displays are incredibly impressive and show off a remarkable use of skill and investment, we wanted to honor the spirit of the competition, which is to encourage new designers to try out the SKINR system.
To that end, we wanted to create a skin that could meet the following guidelines:
- Must cost less than 100 PLEX to sequence
- Must cost less than 500 mil ISK in total (including sequence price)
- No elements that are not currently available for sale in at least 1 of the major trading hubs
- No T2 or T3 ships
Additionally, we decided we were going to go for a Gallente ship in honor of our faction and highlight the signature green and purple we use for our corporation branding and skins. We knew this was going to bring about a simpler design with less of the big wow factor, opting instead for a look that newer capsuleers and designers could look at and say “Neat, I bet I could do something like that” and actually be able to afford it.
And so, Clockwork Studios is proud to present Lovejoy, a skin for the Federation Navy Comet inspired by the comet of the same name. See the link below for a brief 3D tour, showing off its hidden iridescence.

Congrats everyone! I forgot to mention in my entry post that I’ve also put together a design element catalog for people who want to order skins or try their hand at learning palettes. We update whenever new elements are released so check back regularly.
