MISMAPS℠ + MISKILLZ℠ — Free New Eden Mapping, Route Planning, Killboard & War Intelligence Tools

o7 capsuleers!

I’m happy to share two free, browser-based tools for the EVE Online community developed as part of the MIMGC service network:

MISMAPS℠ + MISKILLZ℠

MISMAPS℠ is an interactive New Eden atlas and route-planning platform.

MISKILLZ℠ is a public killboard, combat-record, and war-intelligence platform.

Both services are intended to be useful to individual pilots, corporations, alliances, haulers, explorers, industrialists, PvP pilots, and newer players without requiring another application to be installed.

Public access is free.

MISMAPS℠

New Eden Interactive Atlas & Route Planner

Current version: v4.0.0

MISMAPS℠ provides an alternative way to explore, inspect, and navigate New Eden using both readable 2D cartography and the actual three-dimensional spatial positions of solar systems.

Mapping

MISMAPS℠ includes:

  • Thousands of mapped New Eden solar systems and stargate connections
  • Regions and constellations
  • 2D planar projection
  • 3D true-coordinate spatial projection
  • Searchable solar systems
  • Region and security filtering
  • System labels
  • Major market-hub markers
  • Solar-system-focused views
  • Pan, zoom, rotation, recentering, and direct system selection
  • Mouse, keyboard, touch, and pinch-to-zoom controls
  • Accessibility and larger-interface-text options

The 2D projection is designed primarily for readability and understanding the gate network.

The 3D projection uses the official coordinates of New Eden’s systems to show how the cluster is actually arranged spatially.

System inspection

Selecting a system allows you to inspect information such as:

  • Region
  • Constellation
  • Security status
  • Stargate connections
  • Connected systems
  • Spatial position
  • Public activity information when available
  • Public sovereignty information when available

MISMAPS℠ can also display the interior of individual systems using publicly available information for stars, planets, moons, asteroid belts, NPC stations, and stargates.

Route planning

MISMAPS℠ includes a built-in route planner with several routing policies, including:

  • Shorter
  • Safer
  • Less-Secure
  • High-sec only

Routes can include security restrictions and avoided security bands.

The plotted route can then be inspected directly against the map rather than being presented only as a list of system names.

MISMAPS℠ is intended to complement the in-game map and navigation tools—not replace them.

Always verify important travel and current conditions in the EVE client before undocking.

MISKILLZ℠

New Eden Killboard, Combat Records & War Intelligence

Current version: v0.6.1

MISKILLZ℠ is the combat-intelligence side of the project.

It is designed to make public killmail, combat, corporation, alliance, and war information easier to browse and understand from a single interface.

Killboard & combat records

MISKILLZ℠ includes:

  • Public killmail browsing
  • Recent combat activity
  • Individual killmail detail pages
  • Victim information
  • Attacker information
  • Ships and fittings
  • Destroyed and dropped items
  • Corporation information
  • Alliance information
  • Solo and multiple-attacker engagements
  • Capsule losses
  • High-value losses
  • Solar-system and regional context

Killmail records preserve available corporation and alliance context for both victims and attackers.

Characters or corporations without an alliance are identified accordingly rather than being assigned fabricated alliance information.

War intelligence

MISKILLZ℠ also provides dedicated war information, including:

  • Active wars
  • Recently completed wars
  • Participating corporations and alliances
  • War-related killmail activity
  • Combat activity from both sides
  • New or zero-kill war states
  • Entity navigation between related records

The goal is not simply to show that a war exists, but to make its publicly available combat history easier to investigate.

Public access

Normal MISKILLZ℠ browsing is publicly accessible.

You do not need to authenticate simply to browse the public killboard, combat records, or war-intelligence pages.

Administrative and collector functions remain protected separately.

One ecosystem, two different jobs

The easiest way to think about the two services is:

MISMAPS℠ answers:

Where am I, where am I going, and how do I get there?

MISKILLZ℠ answers:

What has been happening there, who has been fighting, and what was lost?

They are separate applications, but they are being developed to complement each other.

Over time, I want the MIMGC service network to provide pilots with useful navigation, cartography, logistics, combat-record, and intelligence tools without turning them into a mandatory account ecosystem.

Use what is useful to you.

Built for the EVE community

Both projects originally grew out of tools and concepts intended for my own use and for corporation/alliance operations.

Like MISMAPS℠, MISKILLZ℠ reached a point where keeping it entirely internal didn’t make much sense when other pilots could benefit from it too.

Neither project is intended to replace the EVE client.

They are intended to provide different ways of looking at the enormous amount of information that already exists throughout New Eden.

Feedback is welcome

Both services are actively maintained, work in progress, and feedback from other pilots is extremely useful.

For MISMAPS℠, I’m especially interested in feedback concerning:

  • Route results
  • Map readability
  • 2D and 3D navigation
  • Mobile/touch behavior
  • System information
  • Performance
  • Accessibility
  • Features that would make exploration or route planning easier

For MISKILLZ℠, I’m especially interested in:

  • Killmail presentation
  • Combat-record readability
  • War-intelligence usefulness
  • Missing or confusing information
  • Corporation/alliance navigation
  • Mobile behavior
  • Performance
  • Features that would make combat information easier to understand

Bug reports, suggestions, ideas, and general feedback are welcome.

And if you don’t…

MISKILLZ℠ might have the record.

Man, Mismaps looks amazing and is very responsive.

Feature/change feedback:

  • Bookmarks/custom system labels that show on the map at all zoom levels and as a list in a side panel
  • Show the full route as a list - the highlighted danger systems are nice but the whole route is good to see too
  • Select which widgets to display in the left and right panels (not just collapse as they still take up a lot of space) - or compact them further when collapsed
  • Emphasis on titles of the information sections as it’s hard to distinguish at a glance.
  • Minimize the left and right panels

Overall, it seems like a lot of unnecessary stuff on the left and right panels while there isn’t enough of the primary needed information like the entire route shown, and what is shown is in a small box you have to scroll.

The responsiveness and clarity of the map itself is by far the best of any map tool I’ve seen, excellent work on that.

Hey Nishino thank you so much, its really great to hear that and that you like it! o7

Feedback is very helpful some of which is in the pipe, The bookmarks system is something that went over my head honestly didn’t think about it but that’s now something that will be added in a future update for the site, keep an eye out for that.

It does feel cluttered and will be changing that, the goal with it is to bring you as much info as you need it when you need it but I also don’t want to overwhelm the user with crap like they got a virus from that one hub site (Lol) So I will be making that a one of my priorities going forward.

Thank you again for the feedback and it will be taken seriously and a BIG FAT THANK YOU for checking out MISMAPS/MISKILLZ

That was quick implementation! I noticed the compact options, sidebar collapsing, category toggling, bookmarks and full route display. Stoked to be able to use this, after some more use I’ll see if I have any more feedback.

Still impressed by how smooth it is compared to every other map util. Blows all of them - including the in-game 2d map - away.

That’s great to hear! Glad you like the map was a pain to get working but I’m proud of it, Just been letting the sites run on their own with some fixes here and there but I’m hoping everything is working fine on everyone else’s end, any feedback or ideas on how we could improve on MISMAPS and MISKILLZ is welcome and very appreciated, Thank you for using them, Fly safe! o7
