How can I hide my public profile?
And… If I have to wait to have more time on the forum, why am I restricted on such a needed safety feature while trolls aren’t?

Go to Preferences → Interface. It’s one of the radio buttons when you scroll down.
I don’t think you have to have more time on the forum to do it.
You’re right to call that a safety feature. When you hide your profile you prevent the perverts and trolls from stalking you on the forum.
