They are
I just bought one for:
And to be honest, I think I overpaid for it. (It was a buy order I put up and neglected to stay on top of.) The prices are dropping fast on these and I think they’ll be down to 5B by the end of today.
I’d suggest moving yours to a market hub not flooded with these and see if you can sell it for 9 or 10B.
Mr Epeen
And to think people rioted over a monocole…
…used to fill a threadnought with 500 word posts for the possibility of a million ISk offered for the best story.
It’s a whole different world these days, Arthur.
Mr Epeen
Back then, the standards were exponentially higher. Today we swim in a cesspool of p2w micro-transaction games, with EvE surviving on a defunct engine covered in layers of bling.
Nowadays CCP throws dust in our faces with “Marauder nerfs” and SKINs, while people hoard logged off characters and abuse mechanics. I play and loose marauders, it’s natural (yes, check). I play and don’t loose other ships, it’s natural. People will always try to shoot the more expensive ship; nerfing it will not help: simple common sense.
But CCP, where are the numbers that you invoke? “Pocheven, this and that” some players say. Fluff. No numbers. Just lies to entertain the salty bored $$$ givers.
List the numbers of people playing marauders, in what roles and how they fit them; the abused marauders are but a tiny percentage. Nobody thinks with perspective anymore, everyone embraces the doctrine, internet ads and “Patch notes” as Gospel.
Bah, it’s frustrating because this game could be great; if only the old-money drama weren’t dragging it down.
Expressive. So how is the 10 year old kid, a 2-weeks-old player, going to understand all this when his hard earned ship just went poof! for “a fine time doing so” billionaire? You generalise to the point of grotesque and inhuman. Use perspective. Produce players, not ISK.
I noticed everyone assumes the game is played by veterans and their alts. Give up control, you will vanish anyway. Help new players grow.
Give Marauders back:
• Base 3.5 AU/s warp speed (the +0.5 AU/s warp speed was never an issue)
• Shield, armor and hull strength bonuses (find some other way to nerf Pochven)
In addition:
• Exchange one high slot for one low slot on both the Paladin and Golem
• Give the Golem a +5% bonus to cruise missile and torpedo explosion radius per Marauder level
• All Marauders receive a +7.5% target painter bonus per Marauder level
• All Marauders get a 2000m3 fleet hangar (lose 500m3 cargo space)
• Change Bastion back to a 30-second cycle (add a fuel bay and require fuel to run)
• Remove the 60-second Bastion weapon timer
Defense isn’t the problem with Multi-boxers in most games. If you have 10 Marauders all striking the same target and then each moving in unison to the next target and so on… Doesn’t that make offense the problem? Each target faces 10 Marauders because the linking program handles all of the target swapping. That kind of control is always what makes multi-boxing dangerous. Or is that not possible to do in Eve Online? I know that’s how it works in WoW and in Final Fantasy XIV.
Defense isn’t the danger- it’s having all those ships switch in unison from one target to another. Nerfing Defense won’t affect that.
I am looking forward to seeing the price of Marauders drop though.
I did not even realize they had lost it.
CCP give the warp speed back !!!
define “strength”
You mean reduction, right ? RIGHT ?
All BS get a 1000 m³ AMMO hanger, lose 500 m³ cargo ; all BC gain 700 for 350 ; cruisers 500 for 250 ; des 200 for 100 and frig 100 for 50 - even the exploration ones.
Nah.
- remove all range bonus on the marauders (keep those already on the bastion)
- add +20% falloff range for stasis grapplers and warp scramblers on the vargur per level (RN 0+100% = 0 okay)
- add -10% energy neutralization activation cost per level on the paladin, +10% to falloff range
- add +20% strength to dampeners on the kronos per level (I don’t think it needs more range)
I’ll just keep it.
You make no sense whatsoever, you lost track of what a marauder is. Try again.
I was that kid, that new player. My ship ‘went poof!’. I made it my task to find out how and why. Here I am, more than a decade later, older, wiser in the game and, yes, having a fine time!
Generalisations don’t usually introduce themselves with the words:
I’m a bit baffled by this excerpt. ‘Use perspective’? As for producing ‘players, not ISK’, I am not a person who plays this game for ISK profit. My entertainment is my profit, if you like. It is not my responsibility to ‘produce players’, and is nowhere mentioned in CCP’s ToS or EULA.
Not ‘everyone’, Sarah. That’s a gross generalisation, and one of your own devising. Certainly, veterans and their alts play the game. So what? Should they be stripped of their achievements? ‘Give up control’ - of what, exactly? If veterans have ‘worked’ hard to accrue benefits of various kinds in the game, why should they set them aside?
Ah, here we’re on familiar ground. It’s ‘For God’s Sake Think of the Newbies!’ - time. New players are not children, neither should they be treated as such. They are capable of researching and evaluating the EVE experience or asking for help, if they get stuck.
What helps new players grow, as players and as people, is the successful navigation of the world in which they find themselves. This is often helped by facing and coping with challenges - including those in which one is the underdog!
It is no task of mine to facilitate this process, though I will do so if I determine that the player has the disposition to take advantage of the investment. Otherwise, not. No apologies.
While I share the view and understand it… it’s chilling to the bone. I do not like it, “God save the Newbs” or not. That’s not even salty, it’s Borg sad. Live a little! Cheer up!
L.E. No apologies needed, the newbie environment is the grass of the land. Unless you like tarmac.
OP related, I like Marauders, I don’t like the nerf. Give Bastion, RIP Bastion ewar protection, Nerf Bastion into ganker paradise land, resume Bastion to normal levels, give BS buffs, take BS buffs, etc. I think the devs are scratching their heads on what more changes to come up with for the Marauders.
Borg? The only ‘Borg’ I know of was a Finnish Bass, whom I greatly revere. Actually, no, there was another; Björn Borg, the tennis player. Showing my age, I guess. Which Borg did you mean? Link it to Marauders to stay on-topic…
I fly a Vargur, but only for L4 missions in Highsec. I never need to use the Bastion module and my poor drones only rarely leave their bay. The ship is so good at that particular job that I’ll continue to use it until CCP cries ‘Enough!’.
Yes, reduction, ie: -25% explosion radius. By “strength” I mean the hit point bonuses they took away like a thief in the night. And yes, return the warp speed to what it should be for T2 battleships.
Why? Also add some Marauder insight or experience.
Marauders are a carebear ship.
So is every ship CODE flies.
What’s your point?
Mr Epeen
‘Should’ ? There’s been PvP in highsec since day 1. Where does this ‘should’ suddenly come from ? Maybe you ‘should’ go play another game if you don’t like the way Eve is.
It’s like arguing that knights ‘shouldn’t’ be able to jump over pieces in chess. Heck…never mind that they’ve been doing so for 500 years and it is fundamental to the game. Nooo…a single disgruntled player doesn’t like it, so lets have the International Chess Association change the rules just for that one player.
