Skinr Feedback

I just want to add that if any changes are made in the future to this feature, the new content should be able to be added to older skins. Otherwise you make current investments in skins obsolete. If you do that… why would I ever invest again? Or just make the new changes so much different that the older skins remain very unique. idk tbh, im new with skins and just started buying them but i do understand what value is.

Hello. Today, while creating a skin for the Wargur, I realized I couldn’t properly place a design on its surfaces. If I want to place an image of a sun or a skull on the surfaces of the Golem or the Widow, they appear at a small size, can be moved anywhere, and are clearly visible. However, even something as simple as a digit appears huge right away, won’t scale, and—for some reason—sinks deep into the Wargur’s body. I tried figuring out the projection tool, but the article listing the controls certainly didn’t help. No matter which tools I tried, I couldn’t get a decent pattern onto the Wargur’s surfaces. If you look at the community skins for sale, you’ll see that people are struggling to work with patterns on the Wargur. It seems no anchor points were created for the Wargur’s sails or fins to hold a design, though their inherently drab, dark color isn’t exactly inspiring to begin with. To make matters worse, it’s impossible to anchor patterns even in the designated areas.
First and foremost, the positioning scripts need to be reworked so that designs are placed on the surfaces rather than inside them. We also need a proper, clear tutorial video explaining how to use the positioning tool to place any design exactly where it’s needed. Otherwise, things aren’t bad, though I’d love to have more attractive designs available. A sun, a couple of skulls, and faction symbols aren’t enough for real creativity. We need bunnies, dogs, crabs, and maybe some tasteful images of scantily clad women.

p.s Of course, it’s great that they’ve added another 200 color options and abstract patterns over the past few years. But I’d like to see an image of a humanoid creature on the ship before I turn 60.

Which tools did you use?

I don’t have a problem anchoring or scaling patterns onto the Vargur:

I tried the number 2 pattern you have on, and it scales. Are you sure you had the right pattern selected when you tried this?

Vargur does pose problems for certain designs because the hull is vertically flat. So some designs won’t work for it like they work for a Golem. But that’s normal to have to rework designs for every hull specifically.

What do you mean by this? Patterns are on the surface.

Take a look at the screenshot above. My blue number “2” is showing through on the surface in ragged patches, whereas the large number is embedded deep inside and isn’t visible from there.

Surprisingly, I managed to do it. Apparently, something in the positioning settings got messed up yesterday… But the pattern still isn’t being applied to the fins.
