First up is the lighting. Skins in space look very different than skins in the editor. Giving us the option to change the background (and ship reflections) in the editor to one of like 5 or 6 nebula options to simulate being undocked in different regions. Along with the option to change the “sun” color to further that location simulation.
Secondly, the faction “stock” colors being available in the editor would be great. Like if I wanted to make a skin for the Kronos to make it look more like a regular Megathron or at least the base green or gray shades used on the regular non-skinned T1 ships. Having faction corporation colors available would be even better. Being able to use the Lai Dai khaki satin on other ships would be nice. Having a matte, satin, gloss, and high-gloss version of all the colors would be great, too. Basically, the color palette right now kind of sucks. A lot of the colors right now are more Modern Warfare clown skin colors instead of EVE in universe lore friendly colors… Why can’t I have my Kronos painted with the Triglavian green?
More basic patterns would be good, also. Like the hazard pattern on those recent skins.
Also, let is be able to change the colors for the ship’s lighting. Maybe even 3 separate lighting options, like; Interior Lighting from windows and such, Exterior Lighting like running lights, “headlights”, etc.., and a separate lighting option for like Marauder Bastion mode lighting and other ships that have the same extra effects.

Lighting, fixed camera angles, ship weathering, more unlimited design elements, a history log for sales, etc.

On top of everything you said about corporation colors…add NPC corporation logos too.

How about possibility of buying (looting) blank color (separate for matte/satin/metal) and blank pattern components?
So we could define our own colors with Color Picker™
…and define our own patterns - I know, I know, TTP <1s
It could be revised and approved by CCP, like Alliance logos but maybe faster, and would cost PLEX (non refundable) to submit a pattern for revision
I’d love an unlimited “Unicorn” color picker - even if it was a cash only purchase.
1: Repurposing the editor to accept other, multiple forms of payment other than plex.
2: The Corporation LOGO as it works now, can be bought with a “X” amount of “X” (I forgot the name) and is separate completely from the SKINR editor. It’s put in a fixed location and on big ships is so small you can’t spot it if not full zoom in.
It’s irritating bad. We should be able to purchase it as one shot overlay use, this way we could commercialize our corp.
3: The Logo design itself is the most boring thing in the game, it’s a three layer design with limited overlays and colors. We should be able to import one bitmap at least. The Own corp LOGO design should have a separate Editor entirely and an import function would mean opening the gates to crazy designs that could then be used in the regular SKINR Editor. How much “X” should cost each passage should restrict its free reign over regular Overlays, and only one Logo per corp is allowed at the moment, what would happen if you decide to change your logo to the old one with the changes? It shouldn’t be treated as a normal Overlay but the ability to industrialize the process and selling it to the market could be a very lucrative and fun source of income. Only active members of that corp can “use” that overlay to create a SKINR and should pay an additional “X” sum to personally activate the corp Logo licence, not a corp wide feature. Or it would be abused and break regular Overlay market.
This are the three Major changes, together with adding T3 ships metas, that should be taken into consideration. I Like the illumination in Space option as I do like also running consoles texts in Neon, Lasers, etc and particle trails effects.
Both of which could add a self illumination source to the ship design and create gorgeous looking in Space design without requiring context specific ship mesh reflections.
Ps: one previous suggestion was the ability to “recycle” bad SKINR designs, I think it’s still a valid argument (Just edit the name of a made SKINR would be great, if it’s your design).
