Smartbombs range in 3d space - explosive looks bad?

Volume of a sphere V = ⁴/₃πr³
EMP fraction smartbomb (large) damage volume 4/3 * 3,14 * 7,5 * 7,5 * 7,5 = 1766 km3
Explosive fraction smartbomb (large) damage volume 4/3 * 3,14 * 6 * 6 * 6 = 904 km3
If we compare the volumes, then EMP is 1.95 times larger than Explosive. But damage of Explosive smartbomb is 120% from EMP.

In new realm of PvE where nps in combat sites spawned around 15-20 km line range of smartbombs looks is a more important factor.

I test EMP and Explosive smartpacks in Sansha and Angel nullsecs, and looks Explosive SB not enoth of range and need little up from 6 km to 6,5-7 km. What do you think about that?

  • IN EMP L SB range is 7.5+0.35+0.5 = 8.35
    AoE is 4/3×pi×(8,5)^3 = 2572
  • RF PRO L SB range is 6+0.35+0.5 = 6.85
    AoE is 4/3×pi×(6,85)^3 = 1346

Basically EMP has 91% additional AoE. Close to the (7.5/6)^3 = +95%

To have things balanced, it’s mandatory a loss in DPS is compensated by an at least as important gain in area, so at least ×1.2 the area of explosive ; but also for other SB.
