Starting a new industrial corp

Hello everyone,

I’m relatively new to eve. By that I mean i have been playing for less than a year. Long enough to get the hang of the base mechanics, but not long enough to know all the nuances of the game.

I love industry, mining, and research, and have made them the focal point of my gameplay. I started a corp that is just my alts to make things a bit simpler, but I want to expand and invite other players to join me. I operate out of high-sec and focus on chill PvE gameplay. My ultimate goal is to eventually become a pretty solid industrial corp and ally with some PvP corps to manufacture their items for them.

  • How do I make my corp appealing to other industrialists?
  • What kind of projects should I give the corp to work toward?
  • Should I implement ore buybacks or ship replacements/upgrades?

I’m sure I’m missing some obvious questions I should be asking, but what do you guys think? Does anyone here run an industry-focused corp like this?

I appreciate any help!

First, I think you’re going to run into a lot of challenges recruiting new members, here’s why:

There’s a ton of high sec industrial corps out there, many of them have amazing benefits: access to null sec, access to low sec reactions and even T2 production- all led by CEOs with 10+ years of experience. Mining boosts, SRP and buyback also commonly included.

I think that, as a new player, you’re going to run into a lot of resistance recruiting members since it’s unlikely you’ll be able to compete anywhere close to what the established high sec corps offer.

In an effort to be constructive, I encourage you to think about this question:

What will make your corp unique from nearly every other High Sec corp out there? People what to try something new and fun. If you can offer an experience that they can’t get from any other Corp- you may be able to capture their curiosity.

Good luck and Fly Safe!

Listen to the man. You are like 20 years too late to invent the wheel. You have to find a niche where you can excel, either by being extremly good to get access to the resources you need for your product(s) or to get long-term customers that value your extreme speed, reliability and service.

But, in almost any case: You will have to leave high sec. Your inability to own and protect Citadels in HS on your own and the high System Index Costs will make it absolutely impossible for you to produce on a competitive scale.
