I’ve tried to get their attention in almost every MER in 2024, didn’t even get a reply. So good luck. They don’t seem to care that Ice is basically being afk mined or botmined all day long in HS.
No it’s true. AFK mining is legal. CCP does not care that it’s being AFK mined. Why would they? It’s legal. They may care about botting- unless it’s done in one of their beloved null-sec alliances. But AFK mining? They really don’t.
no, my reply to the other guy has to do with believing ice is afk mined…when its being mined by ppl that want teh ice gone as fast possible most of the time…and if ppl dont want to be in their corps to get it gone…then multiboxers go in and ripp it apart…which is what the OP is complaining about…hs is not slow farmed by bots and afkr’s at all.
Yea, that’s exactly right. The OP should instead be asking for faster spawn times for fresh belts and/or for larger belt spawns when they do appear. I don’t see ‘bots’ or many afk either, but multi-boxers though? Oh yah.
For me, the solution in retrospect would be - as stupid as it sounds - to make the ice belts static again with infinite sized ice roids as it was before.
It will have several benefits:
For some people it will then become boring and they will stop doing it or limit the time they do it, because you just fall asleep or start watching a movie. Ice prices drop again and people will search for better opportunities.
Also it is more visible and better analyzable if someone is botting.
Gankers have predictable prey all around the clock.
Yeah that would make sense, but the loudest criers against that are the nullbear cave dwellers who can’t sleep at night if they think High Sec players actually have something to enjoy.
Well, your solution might work, if CCP would add a “hull polarization field” to those Ice belts, basically reducing all ship resistances to 0%, like combat ships using polarized guns.
Legit miners have absolutely no problem, you can always warp out in time if a ganksquad enters the local. Afk miners and botters would be blown up by the dozens each day.

They couldn’t do that since they’d have to up the profits in high sec if they upped the risk factor that much. High Sec ice belts would have to be way more profitable than anything in Null since it’d now be way more dangerous than null sec.
It would only be risky for afk players and botters, and for them, nobody needs to care. So no, no adjustments needed.
But as said before, best solution is to completely remove those big ice belts and split the amount into random anomalies and signatures, but increase reprocessing value quite a bit. Totally unviable for someone with his own massmultiboxfleet, a fortune for small and active mining corps actively looking and scanning for deposits and able to move around their fleet of small mining ships fast and efficient.
Same applies to null sec. Only dangerous to afk players. No one who is active ever gets blown up It’s not like Orcas have a wait time of up to 3 minutes before they can move after all! No Orca pilot would mind having his resistances dropped to zero.
Increase ice mining to 200m per hour. Win win for everyone!
Comparing HS to Nullsec is pretty stupid, because in HS lazy people rely on a magic CONCORD force to scare off attackers while in NS the people are able to protect their ratters and miners with a player driven system of security. Or not, both okay. Thats why the rewards are higher, not because more or less people are dying there. You are self responsible to a very large degree and that is rewarded.
Use the Industrial Core only if you are able to defend your ship. By force. If you can’t, make sure to get out of the belt before Gankers can tackle you. Simple concept.
Or just remove it. Leave HS if you want to make 200m per hour, then provide the security nessessary to do that on your own. Anything done behind a magic CONCORD shield should just pay peanuts. -_-
Defend from suicide ships that will die to Concord anyway? Nope. Can’t attack the suicide ships until after they have attacked and with zero resistances, no target will survive the Alpha damage. So we’ll need massive profits for ship replacement.
And even without the core, Orcas take 30 seconds to align. Can’t align before-hand since you have to maintain 2,500 meters to transfer cargo from the Hulk to the Orca.
So that leaves the Skiffs which have the largest ore holds, but they will also lose tank to the polarization which means that they simply have slower mining (though they do get an ice yield buff) and no tank.
So yeah.. 200m/hour.
Why? Null sec is awful. It’s a very unfun place to play that only rewards multi-boxers. You can make trillions if you log on 10 accounts, quit your job, and exist in someone’s basement so you can play forever. It’s hilarious that these are the people complaining about High Sec people making too much money.
I’m not going to play in Null because losing my freedom isn’t worth the crap profits I make with a single character.
How much sleep do you actually lose worrying about high sec profits?
Null sec profits! Bah. Single players don’t make ■■■■ because CCP balanced it out for the multi-boxers. I’ve got better things to do with my time than PLEX 10 accounts each month.
