The Tuskers - PvP Corporation

Makes me wanna come back XD

*edit: I can’t, though, i’m a nullsec CEO now :frowning:

I’m about a month into my Tuskers’ experience & just thought I’d drop in and leave a message about the corp.

As you will have read, the corp live in a wormhole and work on the basis of rolling the hole for content. This is such a refreshing approach to PVP for me, who has grown up on running hundreds of jumps for not much.

I’ve recently returned to the game after around 4 years out, and the Tuskers have been very helpful and supportive of my relearning the game and meta, there’s no toxicity, and we run on the policy of “its fine to make a mistake as long as you learn from it”.

There is a pretty decent doctrine fleet that we run, and ships for that are offered at discount to members, in addition to occasional other ships, and tackle ships too.

Recruit hopefuls will be given docking access and blue status for our wormhole system and invited to join us on ops until you’ve had chance to earn vouches, in which time you should get a good flavour for the corp and we should be able to taste you too.

We are currently looking to selectively expand to increase our engagement profile, so please, if small gang PVP is of interest to you, come and apply and see if the Tuskers is for you. It has made me fall in love with the game again, and that is not something I expected to happen.

We took out some old school nano drakes. It went alright.

In total we fought about 4 gangs. At one point we were fighting with about 40 hostiles on gird.

Took out another Drake gang, whelped it in 26 minutes.

I’m bad at this game :frowning:

Tuskers love solo PVP. Here are two videos showcasing some fights I’ve had recently.

We had another good fight last night. We had a hole in Detorid, so we went to poke our Chinese friends who’ve been giving us gfs recently. The roam started with Osprey NI, Omen NI, Cerberus, Cyclone and a couple of interceptor and Sabre alts. Our plan was to catch a ratting VNI and force a QRF. We managed to do that in a dead end pocket, and they brought a few T1 cruisers and a Loki to try and save him. We quickly dispatched of the cruisers, but the Loki was snaked and shiny and killed both our ceptors. With a good warp-in we managed to land our Sabre on top of him and held him down long enough for us to kill him.

Then we moved to the next system and hung around the out-gate, which they had a citadel on grid with. We engaged a couple of times and killed a few ships while a Supercarrier and a Carrier were locking us from Citadel tether. We pulled the fight 1j further, and they slowly escalated with pirate battleships and eventually two Carriers. We pinged for reinforcements and managed to kill one carrier and hold the field, the other one getting away.

It was a long chain of fights which stretched for close to two hours from the moment we tackled the VNI, but time flew without feeling it. At some point I had to leave the field and take my Cyclone back as it was in half hull, 90% heat on most modules and, more importantly, out of cap charges, having gone through at least 5 or 6 reloads of my XLASB. Thanks to our friends in RR and Fraternity for bringing a fight, we had loads of fun.

Check us out if you’re interested in this type of fights and come join us on some roams, we like flying with new people.

One of my first engagements as part of tuskers, started the fight inside an anom in brave staging and managed to secure a decent number of frags all things considered <3, if you enjoy fighting outnumbered and trying to hold your own then this is the place for you

Today I woke up and whilst drinking my first cup of coffee saw on slack that my tuskers pals had a fight out in Nullsec from our wormhole.

I logged in as things were finishing up but a few people were still hanging around and trying to bait them out.

We only had a small handful of pilots [myself + 2 BCs + nano phoon + keres] and they had a bunch of T3s and battleships, and probably more since it is their home. We watched the gang for a little bit and I decided to take a Rokh in with the phoon and keres and see what happened. I jumped in and started chasing things off grid and things were looking promising but then they bought in a bunch of logi and then dropped a thanatos. :C

The keres helped damp things down long enough for me to either kill or force all the dictors off grid and managed to get my pod to a safe, and then a corpie brought me an interceptor to escape with my crystals

We continued taking turns keeping them interested whilst we pushed some mass through the hole to their systems - they bought a medium sized gang (maybe 6 BS 6 HAC/BC + support) and sat on the outside of the hole. We undocked some shiny stuff (hurricane fleet, rattlesnaek, bhaal, etc.) and eventually they decided to jump in. But, since we had massed the hole, only about half their fleet got in before it collapsed behind them (as planned).

I was the primary (in a max tank snaek) but was still slowly breaking under the DPS of 4 BSes and BC/HAC. Right as I was about to enter armor, a friendly scimi landed and repped me back up, and we ended up sweeping the field.

(we also had one scimi not on the report)

Still recruiting.

We had another quite fun engagement today. Can’t even really tell when it all really started because I may have been very busy taking a nice Saturday afternoon nap. When I got back and grabbed some coffee I read about a Raven af the end of the chain I had probed in the morning.

I hopped in my trusty fiery red Drake and started moving towards the system in Stain. When I hopped on comms I quickly realized the fight there was far from being over. We had one of our common fleet types out, meaning battlecruisers and that can apply a littler further out plus a random assortment of small ships. When i jumped into system I was already greeted by a culmination of gallente cruiser wrecks.

Warped down to my mates on field and spent the next hour or so warping between out opponent’s home station and the in-gate having fights here and there. Our interdictor and prober did a great job at controlling the engagement. We managed to reliably stay in the fight despite not having any logistics and ended up decimating our opposition.

Here is the battle report from the main system:
https://zkillboard.com/related/30001842/201802101500

All in all: 10/10, would go to Stain again!

So if you are interested in pretty laid back, but very competent PVP, then the Tuskers might be the corp for you.

The other day had great fight with Forces Francophones Libres. It all started with an Atron and a Heretic trying to gank my interceptor alt and slowly escalated from there. I was sitting at a ping off their Fortizar (they had ~30 pilots docked inisde) and they were trying to get a warp in on him. I let them do it, I pointed one and warped my Nosprey in and started the fight.

They brought a BC, two cruisers and some small stuff to kill my Nosprey. I called in my backup in form of Omen and Bifrost. We killed Atron, Jackdaw, Algos, Caracal, Moa, Condor, Oracle but they brought in Paladin, Abaddon, Rokh, Scorpion and other BCs and cruisers so we had to leave field and regroup.
I reshipped into a Keres and we brought Drake, 2xCerberus, Scimitar, Bifrost. We killed a VNI and a Brutix but they brought a Nidhoggur. We bubbled him and pinged for more people. I reshipped into a Kitsune and we brought in a Nightmare and a couple more Cerbs. They brought in a second carrier. We brought a second Kitsune and the fight was on.

Their subcaps were hugging the carriers, so we used our command dessie to jump them off. We killed the separated subcaps while keeping the capitals bubbled and jamming their fighters. Rinse and repeat until we killed most of their subcaps, including the shiny Paladin. We then started to work on their capitals, but as the Nidhoggur was getting low system spiked and a 30 man Jackdaw fleet from TEST came up on dscan. We had no chance against them with our comp, so we had to let the carriers go and extract. The renters were saved by their landlords :frowning:

Even so, we got about 8.7B in subcap kills, so my inty loss was not in vain

Last Thursday, Glasi I were rolling our null sec static in the hope of finding potential targets. As we went through a freshly generated wormhole, we appeared in UEP0-A, located in a constellation in the North East of Omist, owned by the Kids With Guns Alliance.

As we usually do, we quickly sent scouts in the vicinity of our entry system to catch pilots off guard. As I made my way towards Western Omist, Glasi quickly reported a Rorqual mining near an Athanor in 66-PMM, one jump East from our entrance.

With a hard tackle secured on the Rorqual, we proceeded to call in for reinforcements. Within the next minutes, we had 15 friendly pilots on grid and were able to successfully take down a Rorqual that - to our surprise - didn’t have a panic module fitted.

Whilst the Rorqual was going down, Kids With Guns started to trickle in reinforcements. At first, it was mostly battleships and smaller hulls warping in - nothing we couldn’t quickly dispatch with our small fleet. Failing that approach, they decided to escalate.

They brought a total of 4x HAW dreads to the field, escorted by 4x carriers in the hope of driving us away from their Athanor. As we mowed down their flights of fighters and made quick work of their subcaps, we focused our attention on an Archon who was separated from the main capital group. Realising it was passive tanked and left with no support, it was just a matter of time until he would eventually die.

Whilst the Archon was being focused, we realised that the alliance we were fighting were attempting to roll our wormhole connection. Rather than bailing out of the fight, Sulei decided to commit and find a way to get us home later.

As the Archon hit low structure, a Rapier ship decloaked and cynoed in an Apostle who - to our general surprise - prioritised the survival of the cyno Rapier rather than the Archon that it came to save in the first place.

With the Archon dead, we moved on to a Phoenix but were finally pushed off grid as a group of Scorpions landed on field and were able to render our logistic ships useless - putting our whole fleet at risk against the dreads and carriers left on the field.

The fact that we had inflicted about 5.5b for 1.3b losses (including my 3 tackling ships) over a 40 minutes fight made our newly found 22-jumps-long journey home feel like an absolute breeze.

Had a fun little scrap today - we had a decent sized nano cruiser gang roaming when they happened upon a Init Phoenix and a Nid in Fountain. They were able secure tackle, but didn’t have the DPS to break them, so they pinged out Discord and within a few minutes we had a total of about 20 dudes on burning the few jumps from our C2 to assist.

We prioritized maintaining tackle on the caps, while relying on piloting to mitigate incoming damage until we had more logi on field so we could hold tackle stably. We had to fend off a few T3s, Stratioses, and a constant assault of tackle ships, trying to pin down our tacklers so the HAW Phoenix could blap them. Eventually, we got a Bhaal on field and were able to neut out the nid and kill it. As we moved to the Phoenix, a neutral omen came through the nearby gate, tackled our Bhaal, and popped a cyno. In came two Hel’s, a Nyx, and Chimera - which made quick work of Bhaal as the rest of us got off the field.

All and all a fun brawl that left us plenty bruised, but it good spirits.

Our USTZ is a bit… sparse to say the least, but it can still get things done. Last night, we were roaming around the Wicked Creek/Scalding Pass area with three Retributions, when your humble narrator found a lone Nidhoggur in an anomaly. After a bit of fooling around with the fighters, I secured a point on the nid and realized I could comfortably tank the fighters while my two Retribution mates came and got secondary tackle. After a long while of comfortably tanking while cycling points and de-fanging the carrier, an Osprey Navy and Vexor Navy entered grid to try and force us off, but they landed just as our Oracle (the Oracle evaded tackle from a Crusader for 5 or so jumps through sheer Elite Piloting™) and Machariel entered system, and we were able to kill their navy cruisers and force a Falcon off with the Oracle. After that we could easily finish off the carrier.

Are you guys still recruiting? I discovered the “flight or dragons” blog many years ago and was transfixed. It inspired me to start playing Eve. I’d be honoured to fly with The Tuskers

Hi, I can confirm that we’re still playing (although Taurean isn’t :frowning:) ! I’m online right now if you want to have a chat, otherwise feel free to talk to any Tusker in our Public Channel.

Hi, I wasn’t online last night. I’ll be on most of the day today. As soon as I see a recruitment officer online I’ll start a convo.

Last night, our null-sec went to Cache, which has recently been taken over by Red Alliance and Dream Fleet. We had our eyes on a small Jackdaw gang and other ships that appeared to be roaming around. We engaged a Drake in the system of M53-1V and as we were killing it, the various other ships and gangs started arriving. After finishing off the Drake, we started engaging the other ships - the Geddon got a good MJD on top of our Navy Osprey, which we traded for a bunch of light tackle. One of our Retri’s got caught off-guard by the Jackdaw alpha and went down as well.
https://zkillboard.com/br/101524/

We returned to our wormhole to up-ship, and the gangs followed us to the exit-system where we engaged with three cruisers and a Stilletto. We managed to kill most of their cruisers and below, but got split up pretty badly during the fight, which gave a cloaky Loki the opportunity to get the jump on our Navy Osprey. Their Armageddon disengaged but came back with some backup in the form of a Maelstrom plus some light support. In the meantime, two of our guys had reshipped to a Tempest and an Oracle. The Tempest was able to hard-tackle both their battleships in succession, allowing us to kill them outright. After that, their support disengaged, but we managed to tackle their Ashimmu before it could leave.

Joined the Tuskers in Feb and I <3 it. Great group for small gang PvP. Learning a lot and getting to pew!

See The Tuskers in the current AT continuing this weekend…
