Yes yes, all you millennial are special unique diamonds. Quick CCP, give all new players their own 1000 person corp to run…
Yes that is tricky , millenials are booming market and CCP do not have anything to offer. And you toxic vets are just burden from past.
It will be very interestig to see future development
CONTENT REMOVED BECAUSE MILLENNIALS HAD THEIR FEELINGS HURT
So you just cut-off big part of market from CCP, who will pay CCPs bills, toxic ones like you … Noone can build bright business future on someone like you, you just cause unnecessary expenses … No new customers, toxic customers are not reliable ones … who will pay subscriptions ???
Who will pay free beer for CCP stuff ???
Yes yes, EVE is still dying
You realize that Millennials have been playing Eve for a while now right?
But have we been paying for it?
To get the most out of the game you pay in either time or money. I wont play to pay because my time is so much more valuable than a few dollars. I’ll gladly pay to play instead. Millenial btw.
You pay time to play the game, no matter what. Playing costs time. Whether you pay for that opportunity with more time or money (which you probably traded time to get) is essentially just one more term in the overall equation. The difference is more on the publisher’s end (CCP, in this case), that if you give them money is one thing, but just giving them time requires them to have a scheme for monetizing that time.
You give them money because you want exclusive use of your time. I give them my time because it is optimal. I wouldn’t be happy playing selfishly; the game would not be viable with everyone playing selfishly.
I am also a Millennial.
What I was wondering was whether the game’s uptake by Millennials was lesser, greater, or comparable to previous generations with respect to subscription and usage fees (money). Are there more or less Millennials and does the average Millennial pay more or less for the game monetarily?
It is quite clear that you don’t understand the game itself… Amateur or rookie or just a monkey trying to outwit a gorilla with his herd at the back and tou know it… Eve is Eve and it will not change because you think it is unfair… The game and its players will not adjust to your predicament… Not even an inch… So you better hop in and enjoy the ride or at least what’s left of it… Have fun… o7
I wholeheartedly disagree with this attitude that “time spent in game is a payment”. I’ve found some real easy ways to make isk with minimal effort on my end. I am NOT a very smart marketeer, but I manage to make enough for doctrine ships and pvp fleets every week. I don’t consider it “work”. I consider it “playing the game”.
I’d be curious to know how many people post on these forums every day pretending to know all about this game when they’ve only played 50% of what EVE is; totally ignoring the economy/isk-making part because it’s “too much like work”.
I cant use Alt to win a fight!?
How do I get the green line on my zkillboard then?
Do you think I PVP to have a fun?
No, I only PVP to admire my green killboard!!
Elite PVP!!
Only use one??
I use 3 to make sure it goes well
Lets get back to true solo. Sure you can have alts, but only use one for pew at a time. Real solo.
The main problem with alts are that they bypass or minimize the social aspects of the game.
Take this example:
A small group of 6 players doing an industry ops. They are attacked by something that looks like 6 other players. The small group reships into some kitchen sink setup that can take on the attackers, without going totally over the top.
The battle commences, and it is a pretty fun fight. The battle is not super close. The small corps kitchen sink got caught in a bad range / tracking situation and looses the fleet.
After the fight, GF’s are exchanged and conversation reveals that the attackers was just 2 RL friends, running 2 ships each with the same fittings, and 1 utility ship each.
The problem here is not so much in the battle itself, but more in the works that comes before the fight. The small corp need to organize and run a community. This is a time-consuming task. It often results in inefficiencies in general. The two friends have more freedom, they have less things to take care of in their game, for them to be an efficient fighting force.
And in the battle itself…
Yes, the multiboxers have to split their attention, but, in this case, they each have 100% control over half the fleet. This means decisions in the fight is put into action a lot more efficient.
The small corp has to communicate orders over voice to get each ship in the fleet to be efficient. Due to human factors, this can be quite difficult at times.
So yeah. The 2 attacking players, didn’t only have less to organize to get their PVP fleet going, they also had a much more efficient command-to-action pipeline in the fleet, despite their split attention.
I myself played EVE with a single character for 10 years. Always have I felt as I was at a disadvantage. Do you realize how much time it takes to get other players to scout for you, compared to just undocking an alt? Especially scout alts are almost a requirement to play on an equal footing with the rest of New Eden. So, now I run 2 accounts. And it is a HUGE difference.
The bigger issue with Alts is that it is often players with a lot of resources (RL or In-Game) that can afford running more than 1 alt.
Running many alts makes everything from PVP to ISK making a lot more efficient and profitable, without having to build a community to be able to do these things.
This is the ingredients for a positive feed-back loop, and those who profit from it, don’t want it to change (Naturally of cause. Who would?).
It is a precarious situation for CCP, New Eden and its player base.
CCP need to make a executive decision here. The player base is obviously split on these kinds of issues, and cannot reach agreement (this particular issue has been discussed for many years).
I made a reply, to another thread, that discuss and outline thoughts on why EVE seem to be split so much in its player-base and why issues like this remain unresolved, for such a long time.
TLDR: EVE Online has lost touch with many of its original game-design principles.
I hope you found my reply here interesting.
In any case
Fly safe o7
Hi,
Actually I’ve been playing My Time At Portia on the PS4, it’s wonderful
Oh man. You take a couple of years break from the game and so much has changed. Ships have changed, meta has changed . . . it feels so different.
But then you come back to the forums and it’s all exactly the same. Still a bunch of morons crapping up the front page griping about how they need things to change to accommodate them and and griping about all the meanies who have no honor.
Never change, EvE. Never change.
Yep, mistake number 1.
The only honour in EVE is if you’re the FC and the other FC says to his fleet “Don’t shoot the FC!”.
If you’re going out for a 1v1 and it turns into a 5v1, ask yourself this: what can I do to my fit and my tactics to make sure I come out on top in a 5v1? More tank? More DPS? Pump out for a skill injector?
If you’re not asking yourself all the time how you can improve your game, you’re going to lose 1v1s, never mind 5v1s.
Eve is not the only MMO space game in the world, gamers will take their wallets to better and fair games, and Eve will have only old bitervets until they spend their hoarded PLEXs, then even they will go away from eve …
…and you will still be a loser.
