Maybe they need to look at their code and do some actual QA work right ?!

You / we ARE the QA.

DBS

  • Restoration of Bounty Risk modifiers of systems has begun due to a short outage which lead to some of them having drifted from their correct states. This takes place gradually over the next day.
  • The DBS modifier of those systems will be set to the highest multiplier it was at in the past two months.

 This is the second time now that this super amazing microservice causes issues. Any word from CCP how well other already established microservices perform or if they learn from these issues? But so far neither the Chat System nor the DBS make a good argument in favor of the outsourced microservices. Quite the contrary, in fact. Has Chimichanga and his crew taken too big of a bite that they can’T chew?

Capsuleers – we have an update with the Dynamic Bounty System and Bounty Risk Modifiers

On February 16th, many players noticed sharp changes to the Bounty Risk Modifiers in their solar systems.

As initially discussed here (Version 20.02 - General Feedback - #355 by CCP_Swift)the Bounty Risk Modifiers have finished the restoration process. Bounty Risk Modifiers in all solar systems have been adjusted to the highest value between the date of the outage and the date of the restoration.

As such, today you may experience a larger than usual increases in the Bounty Risk Modifier of certain solar systems. The restoration period has completed and the Dynamic Bounty System will continue as to adjust as usual.

How about just removing DBS / BRM so null residents have something to do whilst waiting for the next fleet?

Diminishing ratting and mining is removing content from the game, how does it not compute with you that that’s why null players are quitting? If a moon frag isn’t due to pop and your BRM is in the mire, you may as well not login unless there is a ping for a fleet… That cannot be a sustainable design.

Look at Albion Online, clear development to provide activities for players in all areas of the game (Blue, Red and Black zones i.e. high, low and null space) and changes to reduce structure proliferation and empire building (Hideout changes) and getting people out into the game (their recent ratting BUFFS - now there’s an idea!).

Come on wakey wakey! Stop disincentivising logging in! You want to balance the econ then introduce Albion style satchels which passively consume ISK to buff IP acquisition rate. Albion ratting is hugely rewarding yet balances out because people love to use satchels which consume ingame currency to speed up skill point progression.

You don’t need to balance an econ by enforcing austerity / deflation / stagflation, you could tackle it on the demand side by introducing new systems/content such as the above to act as SINKS.

EDIT: If you linked DBS / BRM to individual accounts that would help e.g. that bot / nolifer ratting 16+ hours/day won’t ruin ratting for Jonny-casual who logs in after work only to see all systems tanked whilst he was offline.

i’m liking the dynamism

how can we know that the DBS works as intended?

Wouldn’t work. That bot/nolifer would just use multiple accounts to continually rat 16+ hours/day but switching character every few hours to keep maximum DBS.

At least that’s what I would do if I wanted to game the system.

If players want to spin up additional accounts that’s not gaming the system, that’s additional revenue to CCP and entirely legitimate in my mind. Balance around accounts not players.

Should just delete the failed dbs system instead of band aid fixing all the time.

That is so right on man, you said it all.

Whether getting more revenue from botters is legitimate or not, it enables the folks at CCP to eat food, wear clothes, and live indoors. Unlike Alphas and ISK to Plexers.

So you don’t know where plex is coming from… Another dumb troll.

You’re right. But not about alphas.

Ay? Not sure if you misread, but to be clear, additional revenue from botters would obviously not be legitimate.

You mean free content for everyone else?

Honest question. Do you mean Alphas are meant to be a bit of cannon fodder?

I do wonder what the ratio of Omega to Alpha undocked in Eve is.
